This past Saturday, over 50 volunteers came together to place over 4,000 flags on veteran's graves at Oak Park and Graceland cemeteries. This was a state wide initiative with America250PA!

Thank you to Jesse Putnam, director of Lawrence County Veteran Affairs for coordinating the volunteers and working closely with the America250PA team.

We couldn't have done this without the help from New Castle's Junior National Honors Society, Union Honors Society, The VFW, Commissioner Dan Kennedy and his wife Debbie, Rep. Marla Brown, Visit Lawrence County Asst. Director and A250PA County Advisor, Ginny Jacob Colella, along with numerous community volunteers!

THANK YOU!!

And thank you to Forward Lawrence for capturing our morning!

Yesterday, we celebrated executive director Janet Falotico’s retirement from Visit Lawrence County! Janet has been with Visit Lawrence County for 28 years, we think it’s time she puts her feet up.

She’s made notable contributions to tourism in Lawrence County you might recognize such as, coordinating the downtown Riverwalk concerts and Scottish Rite Cathedrals 100th Anniversary events, submitting Stavich Bicycle Trail as an National Recreation Trail, working closely with the Pittsburgh Film Office to film the season premiere episode of the “West Wing” in Volant, trademarking the “Fireworks Capital of America” and securing a $70,000 marketing grant to bring big name entertainment to the Scottish Rite Cathedral, and that’s just to name a few. Not to mention the countless boards and committees she’s made a difference being apart of.

Thank you to Congressman Mike Kelly, Senator Michele Brooks and Representative Marla Brown for honoring Janet with special citations.

Her last official day is May 29th, so stop by and send her off into the life of retirement with an abundance well wishes!
