Tomorrow, September 25th 2026 marks 20 years since Steve Gleason’s blocked kick against the Atlanta Falcons. ⚜️🏈

Monday, September 25th 2006, the New Orleans Saints returned to the SuperDome for the first time
after Hurricane Katrina, and they started it off in extroidinary fashion with Gleason’s famous blocked kick, to which the Saints recovered in the endzone. The New Orleans Saints went on to beat the Falcons 23-3, and went on to have their most successful season in history!

In 2012, the “Rebirth” Statue was raised outside the Superdome depicting Gleason’s Blocked Kick.
