These are my comments about the current situation in the Middle East:

Turkey, which has the second largest military in NATO, is not affected by the war in Iran. There is no U.S. State Department Advisory for Turkey; US citizens are not asked to leave Turkey.

There has been one episode of a missile that was brought down on the Syrian border. It was first described in the press as if Iran had started to send their drones and missiles to Turkey. Iranian leaders have assured the Turkish leaders and said this was meant to be heading to the British Base in Cyprus. We are of the opinion that Iran, or Israel, or USA will not attack a NATO country

When travel advisors ask me if they should cancel the arrangements already booked for their clients, I tell them to wait. Cancellation penalties do not change until the final payment time; it is better to wait and see.

Our clients know that we are monitoring the situation very closely and will never send them to harm's way if we thought there was a danger. Turkey is larger than Texas and is more than twice the size of California.

We hope this war ends sooner than later, so that eveybody can enjoy visiting Turkey and our neighbors in peace.

New Michelin restaurants have been announced. We have two 2-Michelin starred restaurants in Turkey now , TURK Fatih Tutak in Istanbul which continues to keep its’ position, and Vino Vocale in Urla, a charming town near Izmir where we send our guests often. But the wonderful news is that we now have a new restaurant in Cappadocia,

I am delighted to have designed a lovely tour for a travel writer and her family in Turkey for Travel+Leisure. It is a delightful read as it is written by the author almost from the point of view of her children and so is much more fun than reading the usual travel articles. Great job Katie Kitamura!
