WHAT A SHOW!!! We know the Ogunquit Playhouse always delivers, but today’s show, The Producers, was an absolute hit! From the incredible choreography and the clever and creative sets, to the show stopping singing and side splitting comedy - the show was hilariously inappropriate in classic Mel Brooks style! Prior to the show we enjoyed a delicious lunch at nearby Clay Hill Farm, where the food, setting, and company were fantastic (as always! 😊). This was our final show of the season at the Ogunquit Playhouse and we can’t wait to see what they have planned for next year!

Our group is on the way home from our trip to the New York Botanical Garden "Flower Power" & the Met Cloisters. We had a great time!! 🙂

Yesterday's visit to the Met Cloisters was amazing - architecture, art, sculpture, illuminated books, stained glass and gardens! Our guides were fabulous and so knowledgeable - the unicorn tapestries were really special and our group loved the visit.

At the NY Botanical Gardens, we started with a guided "flower power" ☮️🌼tour, with an emphasis on displays in the Enid A Haupt Conservatory...beds laid out in "psychedelic" waves, decor reminiscent of the legendary "Daisy drop" at Woodstock, and decorated VW vans and a bus decorated to the theme!

A little rain☔️ can't dampen our spirits and we were all smiles while exploring the gardens on our own. 🙂

Yesterday's annual New England Clambake & Isle of Shoals Cruise tour was a picture-perfect day! From feasting on delicious Maine lobster, clams, mussels, corn on the cob, potatoes, and award-winning clam chowder, to taking in the beautiful views of the Isles of Shoals off the NH and Maine coasts - it was a wonderful day from start to finish!

It was sad to say goodbye to Newfoundland, but we did get a beautiful day to cross from Port aux Basques to N. Sydney, Nova Scotia. 🌞

Our last full day in Newfoundland was spectacular! We started our day with a boat tour of Bonne Bay - our guide, Bill, was informative and very funny! We viewed rocky shores, a series of quaint fishing villages and saw two bald eagles! We enjoyed the local music played by some of the crew as we docked in Woody Point. Our group had free time for lunch and to walk the tiny town - we discovered a great little walk to the lighthouse (and blueberries), some fascinating stories behind some of the historic homes, good coffee and three (count them, 3) places we could get ice cream - Terrapin Heaven! 🍦😁

After lunch we made a quick stop at the Discovery Center for Gros Morne National Park. Here we enjoyed brightening views of the bay and the nearby geological wonder: the Tablelands, which was our next stop.

Our walk in the Tablelands was led by park ranger Avery...who was wonderfully knowledgeable about the various types of rock (primarily Peridotite and Serpentinite) that appear here from plate tectonic activity that exposed a section of the Earth's oceanic crust and mantle...as demonstrated with two of our group. This almost Mars- like landscape is one of only a few places in the world you can experience this and is a Unesco World Heritage Site.

We also learned that the minerals in these rocks are toxic to most plant life, though some have adapted to the environment. One of these is the Newfoundland Labrador official provincial flower, the pitcher plant. This carnivorous plant actually does quite well in parts of the tablelands, and Avery gave a great explanation (complete with model "pitcher" and a pocket full of fake insects). It was a great finish to our last full day on "The Rock".

As always, memories were made and we can't wait to return to this magical island!

Oops again! A couple of days late posting these pictures from our trip into Western Brook Pond. While the weather didn't cooperate 100%, we had a great day with a lot of smiles and a lot of laughs!

The scenery was actually quite magical, mystical, and ethereal....the way the fog and haze drifted in and out, while showing us the peaks of the cliffs on both sides, and a few cascading waterfalls was amazing.

Western Brook Pond is actually a landlocked freshwater fjord, located inside Gros Morne National Park on the west coast of Newfoundland. Carved by ancient glaciers and walled by 2,000-foot sheer cliffs with cascading waterfalls, it is one of the island's most iconic natural wonders.Formed by glaciers, it was once connected to the ocean. When the ice melted, the earth rebounded and cut the basin off from the sea, turning its salt water into ultra-pure fresh water.

It was nothin' but a good time for our group today at the North Shore Music Theater! We enjoyed the jukebox musical, Rock of Ages - which was fantastic! 👩‍🎤🤘The show was full of famaliar rock songs from the 1980's and the cast and creative team did an amazing job bringing the story to life with incredible singing, dancing, and some great comedy! We all headed home with at least one song (probably more) in our heads! Before the show, we took in the beautiful water views while enjoying a delicious lunch at the Danversport Yacht Club 😋

Yesterday was a beautiful day in Twillingate! We had a morning tour of a fishery & heritage center and Captain Dave was as wonderful, informative and funny as ever! Then we made a trip to Long Point Lighthouse, which was built in 1876, and took in the incredible views overlooking the rocky shores and ocean. But we weren't done yet! Next, we made our way to the Salmonid Center where we had a delicious lunch and saw the salmon jumping up the ladders in the river - very cool!! We ended our day in Rocky Harbour on the west coast - where some people settled in for a relaxing evening and others enjoyed a fun evening with a local band in the pub!
