The 7th annual Cars for Canines was absolutely amazing, and we want to thank everyone who attended and participated for the support and turnout! It was an incredible day of music, food, furry friends, and a car show with 153 cars! We’re excited to announce that, thanks to your support, $8000 was raised and split between the Friends of Oak Ridge Animal Shelter and the Anderson Humane Society. This impact will help our furry friends at local shelters as they find fur-ever homes. Thank you! 🐾🚘

The Scarboro 85 Monument Committee is excited to host a groundbreaking on September 3rd from 10:00 AM - 10:30AM in A.K. Bissell Park. Join committee, community and state leaders as we celebrate the groundbreaking of the monument. This monument will honor the 85 courageous black students from Oak Ridge’s Scarboro community who, in 1955, became pioneers in the desegregation of public schools in the southeast. Come take part in the Oak Ridge Fall Classic 5k at Melton Lake Park on August 29 from 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM! It's a perfect way for runners and walkers to celebrate the end of August and the approaching fall. All proceeds will benefit programming of Ridgeview Behavioral Health Services. The event begins and ends at the Pavilion located near the Melton Hill Lake Boat House.
