‼️You May Be Able to Walk Your Loved Ones to the Gate Again! 🥹❤️
This is a pretty big change for air travel.
For years, we’ve gotten used to saying goodbye at airport security but now, at select airports, that goodbye may not have to happen quite so soon.
A new program called Gateside by TSA PreCheck allows eligible people who aren’t flying to go through security and enter the terminal to accompany or meet someone at their gate.
Just think about what that could mean… ❤️
✈️ Walk your kids or grandkids all the way to their gate
🥹 Stay with a nervous traveler until it’s time to board
🍹 Meet up with a friend or family member during a long layover
🎉 Be waiting at the gate to surprise someone when they arrive
👋 Get one last hug at the gate instead of saying goodbye at security
The program is available at select airports, including:
📍 Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW)
📍 Los Angeles (LAX)
📍 Las Vegas (LAS)
📍 Detroit (DTW)
📍 Salt Lake City (SLC)
📍 San Diego (SAN)
📍 Indianapolis (IND)
📍 Columbus (CMH)
📍 Oklahoma City (OKC)
📍 Little Rock (LIT)
📍 Omaha (OMA)👏👏👏👏
📍 Wichita (ICT)
📍 Mesa Gateway (AZA)
More airports may be added in the future.
A few important things to know:
👉 You’ll need to meet the program’s eligibility requirements and apply ahead of your visit.
👉 If approved, you’ll bring your government-issued ID and go through TSA security screening just like a ticketed passenger.
👉 Children may be able to accompany an approved parent or guardian.
👉 The pass is free and only valid for the approved day.
👉 Access is not guaranteed and may be restricted during especially busy travel periods.
For anyone who remembers flying before 9/11, walking a loved one all the way to the gate used to be completely normal. For more than two decades, we’ve gotten used to hugs and goodbyes happening before security.
Seeing those gate-side goodbyes and hellos again is going to feel pretty special. 🥹✈️❤️
