As a kid, I remember seeing a few fishing guides working the river and thinking about how lucky they were to have the best job on earth. I was only 8 years old but I knew what I wanted my future to hold. Well, here I am many years later working as a professional fishing guide. To tell you the truth, after years of guiding, I still think about how lucky I am to go fishing for a living. I must be dreaming! I love what I do, and those who have fished with me will testify about the energy and passion I bring to the river each day. I cannot think of a better way to enjoy the day than hooking into a big sturgeon or salmon. I know what a lasting and memorable experience landing a big fish provides and after all these years, they still get my heart pounding. In 25 plus years of guiding for salmon and sturgeon, I have learned a thing or two about the Columbia River Basin fishing. I would love to share all of my knowledge with you and make some great memories. My commitment to honesty is reflected by the number of repeat customers in my boat. I will not spin false fishing tales just to book a trip. I enjoy building lasting relationships with my customers that go far beyond the one-time trip. When the salmon are biting better than the sturgeon, I will tell you. If I think your trip will be more successful if you wait a few weeks, I will tell you. My goal for you is a safe and exciting day on the water while catching lots of fish. And I will do whatever it takes to make that happen. If that means getting on the water an hour before the other guides to get in the prime spot or re-anchoring four or five times to find where the fish are running, I will get it done. The weather was less than stellar today, but this crew didn’t let that slow them down! They stuck it out, kept fishing, and were rewarded with a beautiful limit of Columbia River Chinook salmon.

This is the time of year when salmon fishing is supposed to be easy… but apparently nobody told the salmon today! 😂🎣

Today was one of those days where we had to earn them. We worked hard, made the right moves, and had a fantastic group of clients who stayed patient and ready all day. Not a single tangle, and when the opportunities came, we capitalized and put fish in the net.

We caught some good ones, released the darker fish, and kept grinding. By the end of the day, we had a pile of beautiful, bright Columbia River salmon to show for it!

They definitely made us work a little harder than usual today, but that’s what makes the good days even more rewarding. Great clients, lots of laughs, beautiful fish, and another successful day with Columbia River Fishing Adventures! 🎣👊

Sitting here this morning getting ready for another day of salmon fishing on the Columbia River, and I can’t help but think how lucky we are to have this incredible fishery right in our backyard.

There are literally thousands of people doing the same thing this morning—getting boats ready, grabbing their gear, and heading out to enjoy the Columbia. And honestly, it’s always pretty awesome to see so many people out here enjoying this amazing fishery with their family and friends, making memories and having a good time.

Then, of course, we can’t forget about all the poor guys heading to work this morning wishing they were going fishing instead. 😂🎣

Another beautiful morning on the Columbia. Time to go see what she has in store for us today!
