Amelia, a Chicagoland area-based travel concierge specializing in Disney® destination Vacations, was born and raised in Northwest Indiana and is a Purdue University graduate. Amelia is the wife to Joseph, and the mother to five mouseketeers, Alex, Emma, Cameron, Christian, and Matthew. Amelia has been frequenting Walt Disney World® since she was a little girl and introduced her husband to the magic in 2014 when they went for their babymoon while pregnant with her first set of twins Alex and Emma. They had the trip of a lifetime, and her husband was hooked immediately. They have been to Disney World every year (and for another babymoon with their second set of twins) since! Amelia is an outgoing early morning person who loves to workout, travel, and who’s favorite place to be is walking on the boardwalk with a latte in her hand and her family by her side on her way to Epcot. She has completed two Run Disney races and is looking forward to participating in her third which will be her first ½ marathon next year. Amelia became a travel concierge three years ago so that she can share the magic of Disney with others through the wonder and excitement of a Disney vacation of their own. Small schedule details can make a BIG difference in how you plan your Disney day, and this one is worth understanding. 🎄✨

EPCOT is currently showing a 9:00 p.m. park close during the International Festival of the Holidays, which begins November 27.

But that does NOT mean you need to be out of EPCOT at 9!

The 9:00 p.m. time is the official park closing time, meaning most attraction queues close at that time. The nighttime spectacular is also scheduled to begin at 9:00 p.m., so you can absolutely watch the fireworks and then make your way out of the park afterward. 🎆

Where the planning comes in is everything you want to accomplish before 9:00.

Holiday kitchens. 🎄
Attractions. 🎢
World Showcase. 🌎
And Candlelight Processional, currently scheduled at 4:45, 6:30 and 8:00 p.m.

Trying to squeeze all of that into the last few hours of your day can get hectic FAST.

As a mom of five, I know how quickly a Disney day can get away from you. 😂 My strategy is always priorities first, extras second. You don’t have to do everything to have an amazing day.

Their childhood is your motherhood. I say it to myself more than I probably need to, but it’s true every single time. Not once have I regretted taking the trip. Not the cost, not the chaos of packing five boys, not the naps we missed for one more ride. These little years don’t last, so we take the trip while they still want to hold my hand through the park.

If you’ve been putting off the trip because the timing never feels perfect, I promise it won’t.

**EPCOT Myth-Busting 101**

People skip EPCOT because they think it’s boring. Let’s bust that myth real quick.

Myth: it’s just for adults. Truth: my boys would riot if we skipped Guardians of the Galaxy or Test Track.

Myth: it’s all walking and no rides. Truth: it has some of the best thrill rides in all of Walt Disney World, hiding behind a “world showcase” reputation.

Myth: it’s a once and done park. Truth: we’ve done three full days there and still find something new. The festivals alone could fill a whole trip, Flower and Garden, Food and W**e, the holidays around World Showcase decorated country by country. Add in live music you’d pay real money to see anywhere else, characters and experiences for every age in my crew, and food that turns lunch into a whole event, and you start to see why this is our go to park every single trip.

And then there’s closing. Those fireworks over the water are the ones that make you stop mid conversation every single time, no matter how many times you’ve seen them.

My boujie, Beach Club loving, Epcot strolling, never met a Mickey bar he didn’t like husband is more up to date on Disney happenings than anyone I know. And behind the scenes, he’s always cheering me on in this journey and loving the adventures it’s given us the chance to have.

14 years of marriage, 6 kids, two homes, and a whole lot of Disney magic along the way. Funny enough, he might actually love Disney more than I do - and he’d be the first to admit that 🤣.

From Walt Disney World to Disneyland to Disney Cruise Line, this man has built a life of adventure with me and our crew, and I wouldn’t trade a single late night, early morning, or “one more ride” for anything.

It took me 8 years as an agent to try the Disney Cruise Line. I thought for certain there was no way it could compare to Walt Disney World.

But man was I wrong. I always tell my clients, it’s all the magic with none of the stress. No schedules, no real planning, food available 24/7 and included in the price. Characters are everywhere, the kids club is beyond your wildest dreams, we literally had to bribe our kids at midnight with ice cream to leave 🤣

The adult decks are fantastic, the food is amazing, the ports are dreamy, and it’s hands down my favorite way to travel (hence 4 cruises in the past 1.5 years 🤣)

If you haven’t tried it, you’re missing out. Trust me.
