Not that I'm counting or anything... but there are only 21 days until we're sailing away on the Disney Wonder for our Alaska cruise.

🏔️❄️🦅 At this point, my social media feed is 90% Alaska cruise content, my packing list has had at least 17 revisions, and I'm pretty sure I've checked the weather more times than necessary. 😂

We stayed at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort on this trip with the goal of slowing down and enjoying the resort more than we typically do during our fall visits, and it absolutely delivered.

The location is hard to beat. The proximity to Magic Kingdom was fantastic, and the boat transportation was both quick and scenic. Getting to EPCOT was just as convenient since it was an easy walk to the Transportation and Ticket Center to hop on the monorail.

The resort itself is beautiful and truly feels like a vacation destination, not just a place to sleep between park days. We were assigned a first-floor room, which had its pros and cons. It was nice not having to deal with elevators, but we definitely missed having a balcony for evening views and relaxing nightcaps. We also noticed a bit more noise from outside than we would have preferred.

The dining options were plentiful, and there was no shortage of places to grab a meal or snack. Unfortunately, traveling with kids meant we didn't get to experience nearly as many of them as we wanted, which just gives us another reason to come back.

One thing to keep in mind if you're visiting during the summer months: Florida's afternoon thunderstorms are no joke. The pools were closed almost daily at some point due to weather, so it's worth planning your pool time earlier in the day whenever possible.

Overall, the Polynesian was a wonderful choice for a more relaxed Disney vacation. Between the beautiful atmosphere, excellent transportation options, and resort amenities, it's a place we'd happily stay again, though next time we'd definitely request a room with a balcony.

Like… “why does Main Street suddenly feel like the cozy holiday village I always wished existed in real life?” magical. The lights, the music, the treats, the characters in their festive outfits — it’s the kind of joy that makes even the most stressed-out grown‑ups suddenly believe in holiday miracles again.
