“Can I pick your brain about a trip I have?”
Those are the worst words to say to a Travel Agent. Meaning you know what they do, but you still didn’t utilize them to book the trip. I don’t think you understand how a travel agent gets a paycheck. You have to book a trip, with them, and then travel on that trip, and then they will receive a commission. Picking their brain and using their expertise, without willing to book the travel with them, is literally rude.
And a side note, if you want to book it on your own, most travel vendors will allow you to transfer it to your travel agent of choice within 30 days of the booking if you haven’t paid in full. One more little note, it doesn’t not cost you extra to book with me. It is not an additional, sneaky fee I add in there. The commission is already built into the cost of your trip, so if you don’t book with a travel agent, you’re just letting the company keep that money instead of supporting a small business.
