New flight Atlanta to Marrakech with Delta. If you haven’t been, add it it your list! Lots of amazing stays. We loved the gardens, tile work and spa at La Mamounia (once home to the King) and Bronson’s luxurious Kasbah Tamadot an hour outside town an the base of the Atlas mountains (their new 3bedroom riads look perfect for a family or group of couples). For a smaller boutique (and more affordable) option in Marrakech, we loved Riad Kniza.

I also have a great private guide who led us through the Todra Gorge, Atlas Mountains, to the desert and back- message me if you need someone.

Delta and United have unveiled new flights to West and northern Africa. These are the new routes—and we've shared what to do and where to stay when you get there.

The 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗲́𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘁 in Paris is a must-visit for art lovers, especially those who appreciate Claude Monet and the Impressionist movement. Located in the 16th arrondissement, this museum houses the largest collection of Monet's works in the world, including his famous painting "Impression, Sunrise", which gave the name to the entire art movement.
In addition to Monet's masterpieces, the museum also showcases works by other famous artists like Berthe Morisot, Renoir, and Pissarro. Set in a beautiful townhouse, it feels more like visiting a grand home filled with art treasures than a typical museum, making it a unique experience in Paris.

Some helpful info on travel rights

If you're affected by today's airline tech issues, bookmark FlightRights.gov. We created an easy-to-use dashboard in 2022 to show which airlines cover meals and hotels, and provide free rebooking when an airline causes a major delay or cancellation.

If your flight is cancelled, and you choose not to travel, you do not have to accept a travel voucher. You can request a cash refund.

If an airline is not following their FlightRights.gov commitments, I want to hear from you. File a complaint with DOT: https://secure.dot.gov/air-travel-complaint.

Last stop - Paris. It’s my happy place, and never gets old. With under 48 hours, we had little agenda, mostly wandering Here we have Paris by day - arrival at the hotel, quiet cloudy morning in the Tuileries, and the Eiffel Tower decked out for the Olympics (lots of added security, closed metro stations etc).

While Florence is the capital of Tuscany, the hilltowns and countryside outside the city are spectacular. Stay if you can but at least take a day trip. You can rent a car or hire a driver/guide as we did. Started the day at 9, visited a pecorino cheese factory, then off to my favorite “the Manhattan of Tuscany” - San Gimignano. From there we stopped at Chez Emma for a fabulous winery lunch and tasting and a last stop in sleepy little Greve, before returning to Florence at 5. A spectacular day away from the crowds!

Florence and food go hand in hand. Great for my 18-y-o son who loves to eat! We loved 13Gobbi (pics 1/2), Mangiafoco known for its truffles (pics 3/4), Il Magazzino’s Florentine crepe and steak (pic 5), walk up sandwiches at Antica Porchetteria (pic 6), candy shops, the best gelato (no added junk) at Gelateria Perche No (pic 8), cappuccino and of course, wine (find a wine window - only 2 still operate - this one was for show).

When you go, book in advance. Most do online res through thefork.com but those that don’t reserve by email or, for Il Magazzino, you must call or we walked up and got lucky. Enjoy!

Florence is synonymous with art - part of what makes it the Renaissance capital. We didn’t go back to Uffizi this trip (a wonderful place) and instead focused on sculpture (and the 2D and instrument collection of the Accademia Gallery). Need I say more than The David?! It is so remarkable to see in person and learn that unlike most sculptors, Michelangelo did not believe in starting w a plaster cast draft. Florence is speckled w amazing sculpture, including this last one beautifully posed along the river.

Pro tip: book your Accademia ticket directly on their site well in advance and expect to lineup and wait a bit even w assignment time. We opted for a 3 hour Toursbylocals guide (who I’m happy to lineup for you if you like) to bring the museum to life and share nearby monument and city info.

Florence was the first Italian city we visited years ago, and still one of my faves in Europe. Walkable with the beautiful Arno river dividing the town, the majority of sites are on one side and the local feel on the other. One of the best things is the beautiful architecture from the grand duomo to Medici palaces to little side streets and terraces.

When at the Cinque Terre, the hike is a requirement. Given it was rainy, we did just one leg - Vernazza to Monterosso. I told the kids 2km, but realized after the fact that was the birds flight distance, not the up/down and around distance. 😂 Well worth it for the views and a smidge of exercise to balance my pesto and limoncello indulgence. The rain also made for a quieter trail and sleepy scene in Monterosso. Definitely check it out!
