Paying respects to Chief Seattle (siʔał), the namesake of the Emerald City. His gravesite in Suquamish offers a peaceful place to reflect, with stunning views of Puget Sound, the Seattle skyline, and mountains beyond.

The memorial was rededicated on Veterans Day in 2010 and is just a short walk from the Suquamish Museum and charming downtown. A powerful piece of local history in a truly beautiful setting.

Have you ever explored the roots of Seattle’s name?
