The buildings of the University of Oxford are covered with hundreds of statues, carvings, and stone figures—everything from kings and saints to scholars, mythical creatures, and gargoyles.

Many were added centuries ago and were designed to tell stories, celebrate important figures, or simply show off the craftsmanship of the era.

You could walk through Oxford every day and still spot something new.

Oxford fun fact 📍

Dating back to the 11th century, St. Edward's Church is one of Oxford's oldest buildings and has been part of the city's landscape for nearly a millennium.

Over the centuries, generations of students, scholars, and visitors have walked past its historic stone walls as Oxford grew into the world-renowned university city it is today.

In just a few weeks ‼️ students will be exploring these same streets and discovering Oxford's history firsthand.

Dr. Predrag Bjelogrlic has previously taught Medicine with Oxford Academia, bringing decades of experience in medical education and clinical training to the classroom.

A physician, researcher, and longtime member of the senior faculty at University of St Andrews, Predrag has spent more than 20 years helping train future medical professionals. His teaching combines academic rigor with a collaborative approach that encourages students to learn from one another.

Croquet became popular in England during the 19th century and quickly found a home on the college lawns of Oxford.

Today, it’s still played across the city and remains a long-standing part of Oxford tradition and student life.

Stonehenge can feel smaller and yet somehow more otherworldly in person. Students spend the day walking the site, learning about the history, taking photos with friends, and inevitably asking the same question everyone does:

How did anyone move stones this big thousands of years ago?

Excursions like this are a chance to see more of England, and experience the places students have usually only encountered in textbooks or documentaries.

Pretty solid way to spend an afternoon.
