Oxford fun fact 📍

Croquet became popular in England during the 19th century and quickly found a home on the college lawns of Oxford.

Today, it’s still played across the city and remains a long-standing part of Oxford tradition and student life.

A little strategy, a lot of patience, and surprisingly competitive.

Stonehenge can feel smaller and yet somehow more otherworldly in person. Students spend the day walking the site, learning about the history, taking photos with friends, and inevitably asking the same question everyone does:

How did anyone move stones this big thousands of years ago?

Excursions like this are a chance to see more of England, and experience the places students have usually only encountered in textbooks or documentaries.

Pretty solid way to spend an afternoon.

“Dr. Luka Katic is an amazing instructor! He got us to have debates relating to psychology and morals as a class all while he educated us on many psychological subjects.”

Dr. Katic has previously taught Psychology, where he brings an interdisciplinary perspective shaped by his background in economics, cognitive science, and experimental psychology.

After earning his doctorate at University of Oxford, Luka has taught in both university and secondary school settings. His work explores how passion and reason interact, offering insight into how we think, decide, and understand the world around us.

Oxford fun fact 📍

Christ Church Meadow is a 300-acre meadow located in the centre of Oxford, between the River Thames and the River Cherwell.

For centuries, it has been used for grazing, walking, and as a quiet stretch of green space within the city.

Especially beautiful in the golden hour light.

Sketch it. Build it. Rethink it.

Take a look at some of our favorite student drawings from Architecture & Design.

From early sketches to refined concepts, students experiment with how ideas become spaces—testing, building, and reimagining what’s possible.

One Oxford Academia tradition

The Oxford tour, led by Academia Co-Founder Prof. Jim Basker, is one of the first ways students get to know Oxford. Walking through the city, hearing its stories, and starting to get familiar with it.

It’s something students often come back to as a favorite part of their experience.

The Radcliffe Camera gets its name from the Latin word camera, meaning “room,” not from photography.

Built in the 18th century, it is now part of the Bodleian Library and remains one of the most iconic landmarks in Oxford.
