I Kick and I Fly: A Community Conversation on Courage, Hope and Protection

Join us Thursday, September 17, from 6:00–7:30 p.m. at SC Johnson’s Golden Rondelle Theater for a meaningful community conversation inspired by I Kick and I Fly, a powerful novel exploring resilience, courage and the strength of the human spirit.

Through an engaging discussion, guests will learn about the realities and warning signs of human trafficking, while exploring ways families and communities can help create safe, supportive environments for young people.

The program features author Ruchira Gupta, founder of Apne Aap Women Worldwide and author of I Kick and I Fly, Rachel Harrison, Program Director of Fight To End Exploitation (FEE) and Lt. Sarah Zupke, with the Racine Police Department Detective Bureau.

Take a trip down memory lane with "'Scooping the Loop' - a Tour of Downtown Racine in the 1950s & 1960s" on Monday, August 31 and Wednesday, September 2, from 7:00–8:30 p.m. at SC Johnson’s Golden Rondelle Theater.

Join Racine natives Carol Gianforte and Jim Mercier as they take the audience “scooping the loop” through downtown Racine in the 1950s and 1960s. Enhanced photos, local stories and humorous anecdotes will bring the era to life and capture the charm of a typical Midwestern town during this time.

Plus, following the August 31 presentation, guests can experience a special Wright at Night Tour, offering a unique evening look at Frank Lloyd Wright-designed buildings on the SC Johnson campus.

When the Wisconsin Industrial Commission doubted Wright’s daring column design for the Administration Building, he proved them wrong—stacking 60 tons of weight on a single column before tipping it over himself. The inspectors were convinced, and construction got the green light.

Bob Uecker: Just Getting Started ⚾🎙️

Join us Tuesday, August 25 and Wednesday, August 26, from 6:10–8:00 p.m. at the Golden Rondelle Theater for a special screening celebrating the life and career of Bob Uecker.

Over a career spanning more than six decades, Uecker became one of the most recognizable and beloved voices in American sports. This intimate 94-minute documentary, filmed during the final three years of his life, follows Uecker as he reflects on the improbable journey that took him from Major League Baseball dugouts to late-night television, Hollywood and the Milwaukee Brewers broadcast booth.

Plus, Racine natives and filmmakers Steve Farr, co-director, and Denise Roberts McKee, co-producer, will introduce the film and join guests for a Q&A following the screening.
