In 1937, H.F. Johnson, Jr. and Frank Lloyd Wright were photographed together at the construction site of the S.C. Johnson & Son Administration Building in Racine, Wisconsin. This landmark project, designed by Wright, is renowned for its innovative use of open space and the iconic “lily pad” columns that support the Great Workroom. Wright’s collaboration with Johnson, the company’s third-generation leader, resulted in one of the most forward-thinking office buildings of its time, embodying Wright’s vision of functional design and organic architecture.
