What an amazing trip to Ireland and Scotland. We had the best weather. We never got rained on once! Our tour finished up in Edinburgh. We enjoyed a wonderful Spirit of Scotland dinner show last night. This morning. We did a city tour and visited the Royals residence in Scotland. We then climbed the hill to the castle where we toured the many buildings and museums. The afternoon was enjoyed by going into the shops and many restaurants on the Royal mile. Also spotted lots of Harry Potter locations while wandering the streets. Tonight we ended our tour with the cherry on top, which was at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo. Absolutely fantastic show and one not to be missed. Flying home in the morning and catching up on some sleep.

We had a short stay in Glasgow but did get a chance to see a lot of the beautiful architecture. Our day was spent on the long and winding road to the highlands. Absolutely spectacular mountains and the heather is in bloom which makes everything look purple. We searched for Haggis on the mountain sides with help from our guide who drew us a picture. We looked for Nessie in Loch Ness. Our evening ended with lots of laughs and great conversation with new friends.

Finished our tour of Northern Ireland in Belfast. We visited the Titanic Experience which takes you through the building of the Titanic. It is at the site where the Titanic was actually built. We then took a ferry over to Scotland and are spending the night in Glasgow. Off to the Highlands tomorrow to look for Nessie in the loch.

Visited the quaint town of Cong where the Quiet Man was filmed. Also toured Beleek pottery and saw all of the steps in making their beautiful China. We walked the columns at Giants Causeway. Learned of the ’troubles’ in Northern Ireland as we toured the town of Derry/Londonderry. Of course we saw more spectacular views as we drove the Wild Atlantic Way coastal road.

The day was spent on the Di**le Peninsula. One of the most beautiful roads in all of Ireland. We stopped for a sheep 🐑 herding demonstration, learned of the beehive homes and thatched cottages. The wild fuchsia and other flowers line the roads for a beautiful drive.

We traveled to the southern most point of Ireland. Mizen Head was nothing short of breathtaking…. In more ways than one....

We traveled to the southern most point of Ireland. Mizen Head was nothing short of breathtaking…. In more ways than one. The views were stunning and the hundreds of stairs took us to the edge of the rocky cliffs where we found more amazing views. Then we traveled over the Cork and Kerry Mountains along the Ring of Kerry. The pictures don’t do it justice. We have travelled on the narrowest of roads but are in good hands with our expert driver.

Had a wonderful time exploring the English Market and the Old City of Cork. We then toured Blarney Castle and its grounds. The poison garden, the Fern Forest and of course kissing the Blarney Stone was an experience to remember. Many of us ended our day with a pint or a whiskey at the local pub with great music.

Visited the Irish Stud Farm and hung out with some beautiful thoroughbred horses. Also, the Japanese garden was so pretty and peaceful. Then it was off to the Rock of Cashel. Such an interesting history with absolutely stunning views of the surrounding countryside.

The day was spent in Booth Bay first stop Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens where they span over 300 acres, a stunning combination of cultivated gardens,natural woodlands, and waterfront landscapes. Along the paths, we encounter five towering trolls hidden among the trees. Next stop downtown Boothbay to enjoy an ice cream!
