🎨✨ On this day in 2012 (May 31), Disney’s Art of Animation Resort officially opened at the Walt Disney World Resort!

This colorful Value Resort brings some of Disney and Pixar’s most beloved stories to life, with immersive theming inspired by Finding Nemo, Cars, The Lion King, and The Little Mermaid.

Two of my favorite things about Disney’s Art of Animation Resort:

🏨 Family Suites – Perfect for larger families and groups, these spacious accommodations sleep up to six guests and feature two bathrooms, a kitchenette, and plenty of room to spread out after a day in the parks.

🚠 Disney Skyliner Transportation – One of the best transportation options at Walt Disney World! Enjoy quick and scenic rides to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT, plus easy access to dining and entertainment at the resorts along the Skyliner route.

🚢 Disney Cruise Line Guests — important policy updates are setting sail beginning June 3 across the fleet! ⚓️

Here’s a quick overview of the changes coming onboard:

🍷 Alcohol Policy Updates
Guests 21+ may now bring onboard:
• ONE unopened bottle of wine or champagne (up to 750 ml) OR
• SIX beers (up to 12 oz each)

All alcohol must be packed in your carry-on luggage at embarkation.

Disney Cruise Line has also LOWERED the dining room corkage fee to $20 per bottle.

Additionally, wine and beer purchased in ports of call will continue to be held until the end of the voyage.

📸 Selfie Sticks & Tripods
Folded selfie sticks, handheld extension poles, and tripods under 18 inches are now permitted in most onboard areas. Longer items must remain stored in your stateroom and may only be used ashore.

🚪 Stateroom Decorations
Door decorating is still welcome (and one of our favorite cruise traditions! 🎉), but decorations are now limited to stateroom doors only — not hallway walls or ceilings.

📅 These updates will roll out fleetwide between June 3–8.

Guests can now rock out on 🎸 Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, soar on 🇺🇸 Soarin’ Across America at EPCOT, and enjoy the brand-new ✨ Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! show.

Hollywood Studios also debuts its ⭐ reimagined Animation Courtyard, while Magic Kingdom welcomes 🏰 Jessie’s Roundup at the Diamond Horseshoe. Over at EPCOT, 🌐 GoofyCore brings goofy fun and games to CommuniCore Hall, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom introduces 💙 Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station!

Made up of FIVE incredibly immersive worlds, Epic Universe truly feels like stepping into entirely different universes the moment you walk through each portal. The five portals are:

I’ve been very lucky to already visit the park twice, and honestly… each visit made me appreciate it even more. The immersion, attractions, entertainment, food, and details throughout the park are absolutely incredible. 🌍🎢

My personal favorite portals are definitely 🧟 Dark Universe and 🐉 How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk. Dark Universe has an unbelievable atmosphere with classic Universal Monsters brought to life in such a creative way, while Isle of Berk feels like you’ve literally stepped right into the movies with stunning scenery, fun attractions, and so much energy throughout the land. ✨
