📜 Official Rules & Details

Distance: 3.5 miles
Stops: 7 ish watering holes along Mechem(it’s not as far from Ruidoso as you think)
Beer Per Stop: 1 refreshment (minimum) before you move on
Overall Goal: Have fun, survive, and cross the finish with style (and maybe more).
Entry fee TBD/ fee will cover the required refreshments to compete and the 1st place trophy.
21+ to compete

✅ Not a race.
Time isn’t the winner here—good decisions, bad outfits, and surviving 7ish refreshments is.

✅ Refresh responsibly.
Pace yourself. Hydrate between stops.

✅ Bring tip money.
Bartenders aren’t volunteering for your shenanigans. Take care of them at every stop. $3 dollar minimum tip per stop.

👗 Dress Code: ANYTHING BUT NORMAL

We mean it. Leave the running shorts and tech tees at home.
• Tuxedo with cowboy boots? ✅
• Superhero costumes? ✅
• Wedding dress from the Humane Society? ✅
• A lampshade on your head? ✅
• Regular gym shorts and a tank top? ❌ (try harder)

Go all out. If you cross that last bar in something epic and still sorta upright, you’re in the running.

📣 Cheering Sections Are Welcome

Encourage your friends, family, and random hype squads to:
1️⃣ Welcome you at every stop with cheers, signs, and maybe questionable life advice.
2️⃣ Meet you at the finish line to witness the glory (or the wobble) of your final steps.

🍺 The Stops

7 ish local watering holes. Each stop = 1 refreshment. You cannot move on until you finish.
(Route to be announced later—expect bartenders with strong pours and zero judgment.)

• Stay with your group, don’t wander into traffic.

Trail run through the Lincoln National Forest, departing straight outta Jacks Backstage. Bring your buggy, your crew, and your attitude. Let’s set the record.

🚗 Rusty Balls Run to Ruidoso registration has been live. If you haven’t signed up, you’re sleepin’ on one of the baddest custom shows in the region. Rat rods, hot rods, lowriders, classics, customs…. We’re stackin’ the hill at Wingfield Park.

🏍️ No buggy? No show car? Got a bike?
Perfect. The Golden Aspen Motorcycle Rally is holding it down over at Casino Apache. One of the longest running rallies in the Southwest and a Ruidoso stronghold in the fall, all kinds of events, runs, and good trouble waiting to be had.

🎸 Nighttime? It’s on.
Lit + Fuel throw down at the Backstage Saturday night.
Whole Lotta Rosies melt faces at the Kickoff Party Friday at Jacks.
And that’s just scratching the surface. There’s half a dozen venues in town with live music, and everything you love about Ruidoso in the fall is in full swing cool weather, killer shops, great food, and that crisp mountain air.

We will be adding a full list of “Partner Lodging” soon. Some might have special rates… Our go to for the artists we book and when we have “company” we don’t want to see when we wake up are our friends at Mountain Air Cabins and Elevate Hotel…. However, one of the good things about this village is the lack of big box/corporation influence. Most everything is locally owned and or operated so you’ll be taken care of wherever you land as long as you land on this hill folks. ✌️🦩

We’re again looking for partners with a vested interest in the health and future of the area

Heal the Hill Corp began last November with a clear focus:
➡️ Flood mitigation
➡️ Overall forestry health and management

Those two go hand in hand. When our hillsides are healthy, our watershed is healthy. When we actively mitigate, we prevent devastation before it starts.

Our mission is to assist area municipalities in ongoing efforts whether that’s signage in low‑lying areas, drainage projects, or clearing choke points and to initiate proactive measures. We’re building a model of continuous improvement and continuous fundraising so there’s always fuel in the tank when emergencies hit.

This isn’t a one‑off benefit or a single event. It’s a long‑term effort to safeguard homes, businesses, and the land itself. Through fundraisers like our upcoming shows we’re pooling resources and putting them right back into the ground, the slopes, and the people who call this place home.

Right now we’re a domestic non‑profit, and in just a few weeks we’ll hold full 501(c)(3) status. That means your partnership will not only make an impact, it will be tax‑deductible.

Tomorrow from 10 am to 3 pm we are offering laundry services for those displaced and first responders. Please bring everything in labeled bags with your name and phone number. You can drop it off and we will call you when it’s complete. You’ll have to drive around back since the front is boarded up. 26114 US 70.
