Once the grand Ponce de León Hotel, Flagler College stands as a breathtaking example of Gilded Age opulence and innovation.

Commissioned by railroad magnate Henry Flagler and opened in 1888, the hotel was a marvel of its time—one of the first buildings in the world made with poured concrete and wired for electricity, courtesy of Flagler’s collaboration with Thomas Edison.

But it was the luxury that truly set it apart. Guests were welcomed into a world of elegance:

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This was such a fun tour... met some great folks, including our guide Judi ( with an i ). She was a font of knowledge even though this tour was pegged as a foodie tour. The places we visited and the food and wine pairings were all excellent ( and plentiful). Highly recommend this if you are looking for an overview of St. Augustine's ancient city food experience... don't eat too much before you go!!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great way to sample local cuisines in St. Augustine: We had an amazing day with Judi Cowan, our host of this tour. She provided a lot of historical information about St. Augustine. The food and wine pairings were phenomenal. A must do tour!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ So much fun! As a resident of St Augustine, I love to take my houseguests on the Tasting Tours to sample the awesome fare that our town has to offer. Our tourguide "Judi with an I" was very fun and informative about St Augustine and the many historical and cultural sites around the City, especially in the Downtown area. I highly recommend the Tasting Tours to visitors and locals alike! Be sure to ask for Judi!
