HAWAII TRAVEL UPDATE: HURRICANE LOWELL

Good news for travelers headed to Hawaii! Hurricane Lowell is moving away from the Hawaiian Islands, and the National Weather Service has discontinued all warnings associated with the storm.

Most visitor areas throughout Hawaii experienced limited disruption, and travelers with upcoming reservations in the coming weeks are being advised to keep their travel plans while continuing to check with their airline and resort.

⚠️ Kauaʻi was impacted the most, with power outages, downed trees, debris and some road closures. If you are traveling to Kauaʻi within the next few days, please confirm that your accommodations are open and operating before arrival.

A few things travelers should know:

Līhuʻe Airport (LIH) has reopened, but flight delays are still possible.
Some parks, trails and outdoor activities on Kauaʻi remain closed while cleanup continues.
Large ocean swells are still possible throughout the islands, so please follow lifeguard warnings and check ocean conditions before heading to the beach.
If you're already in Hawaii, verify attraction and activity operating hours before heading out.

🚨 TRAVEL ALERT — MIAMI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (MIA)

We are following a tragic situation at Miami International Airport today.

An Amazon Prime Air cargo aircraft overran a runway while landing at MIA this afternoon, striking multiple vehicles and catching fire. Officials have confirmed at least five fatalities and five injuries, including three people in critical condition.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, the first responders and everyone affected by this tragedy.

The incident has caused significant disruptions at Miami International, including flight delays and cancellations.

If you are traveling through MIA today or in the immediate future:
Please keep a close eye on your airline app and flight status. Even as airport operations resume, delays and schedule changes may continue as authorities respond to the scene and investigate.
