We build and test our strength every day while out on the trail: carrying a backpack for greater distances and/or increased load, pushing a loaded wheelbarrow on the flat and up hills, descending and ascending steep hills using ropes when necessary, portaging canoes, scrambling, carrying our teammates to a rally point as a group or for our intermediate and advanced students fireman’s carry, gymnastic rings and vertical rope climbing to name a few.

With that said, we’re especially patient and supportive with our new students - we remember what it was like being green - while challenging our intermediate and advanced level students to continually advance.

Today I taught an Intro to slack-lining - Balance Training. There are many more skills on the docket interspersed with conditioning as we head into week 5 already.

I wasn’t the only one that mentioned how quickly our training passed. When you enjoy what you’re doing time seems to fly!

Thanks Andrew for your kind words today!

Since 1996, the relationships built with good people makes my job as a certified fitness instructor and outdoor guide especially enjoyable.

As a community, we train to better experience the beauty of the great outdoors year round.

Come out and experience with us!

When preparing for your next adventure start with pairing foods and beverages that match the activity that you’ll be doing.

Therefore, stick with what works for your body during training - the lead up to the adventure. That said, too many simple sugars, even while climbing, can be a major setback.

What’s your nutritional plan for success while training for what you love?

“Back country” is one mile or more from civilization. If needed, do you have what takes to get your love one(s) back?

Using a pull-up bar in your training will help with a wide variety of activities.
