𝐁𝐡𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐧: 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭

My time in Bhutan was unlike anywhere I have traveled before.

Beyond its beauty, what stayed with me most was the country’s quiet sense of peace, purpose, and happiness.

Bhutan offers so much in a relatively small footprint:
• 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 reflected in its intricate architecture and vibrant traditional dress
• 𝐈𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 including the unforgettable hike to Tiger’s Nest
• 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐲 from sweeping valleys to hillsides lined with prayer flags
• 𝐃𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 experienced through monasteries, nunneries, and sacred sites
• 𝐀 𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 that values well-being, preservation, and community
• 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 at remarkable properties like Pemako Thimphu, Amankora Thimphu, and Zhiwa Ling Heritage.

What I loved most is that Bhutan does not feel rushed or overly commercialized. It feels intentional.

It is a destination that reminds you travel can do more than show you something beautiful it can broaden perspective, deepen appreciation, and stay with you long after you return home.

Nepal: Where Culture, Nature, and Human Connection Meet

My time in Nepal offered far more than dramatic landscapes and iconic landmarks. What I’ll remember most are the moments that revealed the heart of the country: its people, traditions, and daily life.

From the quiet devotion of monks in centuries-old temples to the tradition of the Living Goddess in Kathmandu, Nepal’s culture is everywhere you turn.

The journey also brought incredible contrasts: wildlife in Chitwan National Park, sunset along the Rapti River, visits to small villages, and even seeing Mount Everest from the air.

Nepal offers adventure and beauty, but it’s the people who truly bring it to life.

𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐞𝐧𝐣𝐨𝐲… 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮.

On my recent Lindblad Expeditions National Geographic expedition aboard the Quest, a ship with fewer than 100 guests. We were often the only international tourists in sight.

But the day that will stay with me forever?

Visiting a local school in Capurganá, Colombia.

The children put on beautiful performances… dancing, music, so much joy. But the moment that stole my heart was when they invited us to join them… a little girl ran straight to me, beaming the biggest smile.

We came expecting a fun visit.

Instead, we were given genuine connection and deep gratitude on both sides.

I’ll cherish this day always.

Travel shows us the world.

I recently returned from an unforgettable family golf trip to Scotland to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday. We played Carnoustie Golf Links, Kingsbarns Golf Links, and Turnberry Golf Club — and stayed at the iconic Course Hotel in St Andrews.

Carnoustie lived up to its reputation. At one point, I thought I might need climbing gear to get out of a bunker! Kingsbarns and Turnberry offered breathtaking sea views that almost made me forget about my scorecard.

Our caddies were part strategists, part comedians… their dry Scottish humor made each round even more memorable.

So grateful for the time together, the laughs, and the reminder that the best part of golf isn’t the game, it’s who you walk the course with.

This is an especially meaningful moment for me, as Rosina was my administrative assistant more than 20 years ago. Even then, I knew she was amazingly organized, thoughtful, and deeply dedicated. Now, her career and life journey have come full circle, and I couldn’t be prouder to have her by my side again.

Rosina’s passion for hospitality started early. Growing up in Fort Lauderdale, her family owned a small beachfront hotel, where she learned the art of guest service, precision, and teamwork while helping her parents navigate both the business and a new language. Those formative experiences gave her a hospitality foundation that has guided her throughout her career.

She went on to build an impressive 26-year career with PepsiCo, where she mastered multi-state payroll, HR systems, onboarding, and executive support becoming a trusted partner across departments and teams.

And of course, Rosina is also an avid traveler and cruiser herself, with a love for discovering the world by both sea and land. That personal passion makes her the perfect fit to help our clients plan luxury, small-group, expedition, and river cruises around the world.

During Virtuoso Travel Week on Monday, I joined IHG Hotels & Resorts on an exclusive flight from Las Vegas to Santa Monica Beach for an unforgettable evening experiencing the reimagined Regent Santa Monica Beach Hotel. Champagne was flowing as we headed to the coast for a private tour, followed by an exquisite dinner at Michael Mina’s Orla.

This is a place where coastal California style meets Regent's signature elegance. Picture yourself by the firepit on your private patio as the sun sets over the mountains and pier or end the evening in your own private theater.
