The AmaLilia was introduced in 2024. Maximum capacity is just 82 guests which provides an intimate home base for the roundtrip Luxor experience.

𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐲 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬? Socializing with fellow travelers or relaxing on the sun deck while the lush Nile River landscape drifted by, and watching everyday life unfold—farmers tending their fields, children laughing and playing along the banks.

One of the most unexpected and entertaining surprises? Local "pirates" pulling up alongside our ship in small boats and tossing up merchandise for us to browse and buy—such a fun and lively moment!

Add in gorgeous sunsets, interactive onboard entertainment, and incredible cuisine crafted by the ship’s chef, it was an experience I won’t soon forget.

My journey down the Nile from Luxor to Aswan was nothing short of magical. From the grandeur of Karnak and Luxor Temples to the serene beauty of Philae, every stop was a step back in time.

We explored the Valley of the Kings, stood in awe beneath the towering columns of Kom Ombo and Edfu, and felt the ancient spirit around us all brought to life by Walla, our amazing Egyptologist.

One of the most heartwarming highlights? Visiting a Nubian village near Aswan—where we danced, laughed, and toured a local home. The hospitality, colors, and culture of the Nubian people added so much warmth and joy to the journey.

Upon checking in at the luxurious The St. Regis Cairo, we met our Egyptologist, Walla, who would offer comprehensive insights into Egyptian history and contemporary culture over the next ten days. His expertise was exceptional.

We explored the surrounding areas of Cairo during the first three days before embarking on our AmaWaterways River Cruise:

✤A preview of the $1 billion 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐠𝐲𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐮𝐦 (𝐆𝐄𝐌), showcasing over 100,000 ancient treasures as the largest museum in the world. The grand opening is scheduled for July.

✤The 𝐔𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐂𝐎-𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐬, including Rameses II, the Alabaster Sphinx, and the necropolis of Sakkara.

✤Standing in awe before the 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐱 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐲𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐢𝐳𝐚 from 2500 BC, a true bucket-list moment.

✤And yes, Camel rides under the desert sun.

I recently returned from an exceptional journey in 𝐄𝐠𝐲𝐩𝐭, participating in a 𝐓𝐨𝐩 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐩 with Gifted Travel Network, sponsored by the wonderful team at AmaWaterways.

As a member of GTN’s 𝐓𝐨𝐩 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛, 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 earned this opportunity based on our 2024 sales performance. Given that our specialization is 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥, 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 — it was an especially fitting trip.

The 11-day trip began with a pre-cruise stay in Cairo at the luxurious The St. Regis Cairo followed by a round-trip Nile cruise aboard the 𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐋𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐚, sailing from Luxor and exploring the wonders of ancient Egypt.

The destination itself was extraordinary, but equally notable was the chance to establish deeper connections with fellow GTN Top Producers. Our time together was marked by 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐫, 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐬 that will last well beyond this trip.

Just wrapped up a 5-night stay at the beautiful Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at Nile Plaza—the perfect spot to recharge and refocus between my travels from Brazil to Egypt.

The Nile View from my room provided daily inspiration, and the hotel’s Working at Leisure program made productivity effortless. From exceptional service to a variety of world-class restaurants, every detail was designed with both comfort and efficiency in mind.

One of my favorite moments? The concierge arranged a private felucca ride at sunset, where I met Captain Abutari. We didn’t speak the same language, but shared an unforgettable conversation through smiles, gestures, and the quiet beauty of the Nile.

So grateful for the opportunity to blend work and wellness in such a stunning setting!

Just returned from an unforgettable stay at Hotel das Cataratas, A Belmond Hotel, nestled within the gates of Iguaçu National Park in Brazil. As the only hotel located inside the park, it offers guests exclusive access to Iguaçu Falls before the park opens and after it closes—an experience that is truly magical.

Some of my highlights included:
▪Rainbows at first light, embracing slow luxury without another person in sight for an extended period
▪A breathtaking full moon walk alongside the roaring waterfalls
▪A surprise visit from the most vibrant bird I’ve ever seen—a tanager— right at breakfast

I recently attended the Belmond North America Summit at the iconic Copacabana Palace, A Belmond Hotel in Rio de Janeiro—and what an unforgettable experience it was!

This summit brilliantly balanced meaningful business insights with once-in-a-lifetime moments. We had the privilege of connecting with Belmond’s inspiring General Managers and thought-provoking panelists, who shared the brand’s vision and values with passion and purpose with topics that included:

From a private, sunrise tour of Christ the Redeemer—complete with live saxophone music and a beautifully catered breakfast—to an exuberant afternoon Carnival experience where we danced like true Cariocas, every moment was thoughtfully curated and deeply memorable.

The birds and butterflies around Hotel das Cataratas, A Belmond Hotel were amazing.

My 4 favorite moments:

1. When several tanagers came to visit at breakfast. The most vivid colors I have ever seen. The would even fly into the palm of your hand looking for food.

2. Observing hummingbirds while at breakfast

3. A kaleidoscope of butterflies by the side of the road. I quietly observed them. Every so often they would gather together on the ground.

4. A bird park. While sure this was not in the ‘wild’. They had stations that you could walk through their habitats and come right up to you. The park is a conservancy for over 120 species threatened with extinction.

A couple of months ago I had a pinch-me moment when I received an invitation to a Belmond Summit. Today I depart for this Summit which takes place at the iconic Copacabana Palace, A Belmond Hotel in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

To say I’m grateful is an understatement. Belmond is a brand of hotels, trains, boats and safaris that stir emotions that are hard to put into words.

I’m incredibly honored to join this gathering of inspiring minds and visionary leaders who continue to shape the future of luxury travel.
