As countries are eliminated from the World Cup, I hope they don't disappear from your radar.

Every flag represents a place with its own history, culture, food, music, and people. The tournament may be over for Jordan, Panama, Tunisia, Türkiye, and my beloved Haiti, but those countries are still worth exploring.

I've been fortunate enough to visit all five, and each one gave me a different perspective on the world.

The World Cup may inspire us to cheer for a country for 90 minutes. Travel gives us a reason to appreciate it for a lifetime.

So don't just watch the matches. Put the destinations on your bucket list. Let's make it happen.

Another day, another World Cup rabbit hole.

Today's matches featured Switzerland 🇨🇭, Canada 🇨🇦, Qatar 🇶🇦, Scotland 🏴, Brazil 🇧🇷, Morocco 🇲🇦, Haiti 🇭🇹, Czechia 🇨🇿, Mexico 🇲🇽, and South Africa 🇿🇦.

One thing I've realized is that I'm no longer just watching the matches. I'm reliving my travels.

As each country takes the field, I find myself thinking, "I've been there."

From the Top of Jungfrau in Switzerland to the pyramids of Mexico. From Cape Town to the Sahara Desert of Morocco. From the streets of Prague to Rio, Toronto, Edinburgh, Doha, and Jacmel.

The only countries on today's schedule I haven't explored yet? South Korea and Bosnia & Herzegovina.

It's funny. I started this World Cup trying to understand soccer. Instead, it's become a reminder of just how much of the world I've been fortunate enough to experience... and how much more is still waiting for me.

Ghana vs England game.

One thing this World Cup has done is take me down a lot of rabbit holes. This time it was realizing I've been to both countries.

I've stood in front of Tower Bridge in London and Independence Arch in Accra.

What started as watching soccer has turned into reliving travel memories from around the world.

And honestly? That's been my favorite part of the tournament.

The Haiti vs. Brazil match sent me down a rabbit hole. 🇭🇹⚽

I started looking at the 48 countries competing in this year's World Cup and realized I've visited 36 of them.

Some changed my perspective. Some exceeded expectations. A few still call me back.

As a traveler, I spend a lot of time encouraging people to experience new places, cultures, and events. Last night, I took my own advice.

I attended the Haiti vs. Brazil World Cup match in Philadelphia, and while the final score wasn't what Team Haiti hoped for, the experience was unforgettable.

A few takeaways:

⚽ I finally have a much better understanding of soccer. I'm still not volunteering to coach, but I can definitely follow the game now.

⚽ The athleticism is incredible. The amount of running, strategy, and coordination on that field is something you don't fully appreciate until you see it in person.

⚽ I am still confused about watering the grass right before the match. The sprinklers came on multiple times, and every time a player slipped, I had questions. 😂

Most importantly, I got to spend time with family, celebrate my Haitian heritage, and be part of a global event that brought thousands of people together.

This is one of the things I love most about travel. Sometimes you don't have to go halfway around the world for a meaningful experience. Sometimes it's right in your own city, waiting for you to say yes.
