This morning I’m boarding Disney Dream for a full ship inspection, and I’m going in with a specific list of things families ask me about most.

Ship inspections are where a lot of the real work happens. You can read every review ever written about a ship and still not know what a standard stateroom actually feels like to live in for seven days. Walking it in person, seeing the sight lines, understanding the layout, talking to crew, that’s information no website gives you.

Disney Dream is Disney’s flagship for families with younger kids and a common first cruise for a lot of the families I work with. There’s a lot to love about it. There are also a few things worth understanding before you book.

Today I have three sessions specifically focused on Alaska, and I'm not even in Alaska yet. 🌲🌄

The timing is intentional on my part. My hosted group trip to Alaska sails in July 2027 on Holland America's Nieuw Amsterdam, Fairbanks to Vancouver, 10 days. 🚢✨ I want every recommendation I make about that trip and every Alaska cruise I plan for clients this year to be grounded in the most current information available. 📅🌍 Today is where a lot of that gets updated. 🔄

One session this morning looks specifically at 2027 as a milestone year, 80 years of Alaska cruise exploration, and the wildlife, glacier, and itinerary opportunities that makes that year worth paying attention to. 🐋❄️🌅

Most people don't think about what happens after they book a cruise. 🚢 I do, and today was a good reminder of why that matters. 🌟

Two of my sessions today focused on the parts of this job that clients rarely see: the relationships behind the booking and the experience between the confirmation email and the day you board the ship. 🤝 Both of those things have a direct impact on what happens when something goes sideways, when pricing changes, when you need someone to actually pick up the phone ☎️ and advocate for you.

The gap between a cruise that goes smoothly and one that doesn't usually isn't the ship or the itinerary. It's whether someone is paying attention after the sale is done. 👀✨

Tomorrow is almost entirely Alaska, ❄️ three dedicated sessions plus the trade show and the CLIA Hall of Fame Gala. 🏆 If Alaska 2027 has been sitting in the back of your mind 🧠, tomorrow's posts are worth following. 🌅

Planning a cruise without talking to someone who's actively in the industry is like navigating a new city without asking anyone who lives there. 🌆 I'm in Fort Lauderdale this week for CLIA - Cruise Lines International Association Cruise360, the cruise industry's annual conference for travel advisors, and my morning kicks off with a session on expedition cruising. 🚢

Expedition is a category more clients are asking about, and for good reason. Small ships 🚤, remote destinations 🌍, access to places that bigger vessels simply can't reach. The difference between a great expedition match and a poor one is significant, and I want to know that difference better than anyone you could call. 🔍

I'll be sharing what I'm learning all week. If you've been thinking about a cruise and haven't asked me yet, follow along. 📲 By Saturday you'll have a pretty clear picture of what it looks like to work with someone who takes this seriously. 💼
