You can look at a hotel’s name and assume it must be centrally located… but is it really? 👀

A hotel might have “City Center,” “Downtown,” or the name of a famous landmark in its title, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll be staying right where you think you are.

When we’re helping our clients choose a hotel, we look beyond the name and description. We check the actual location, neighborhood, walkability, transportation, nearby restaurants and attractions, and recommend places that are tried and true.

That’s one of those little details a travel advisor can help with before you arrive and realize your “central” hotel isn’t quite so central. 😂

✈️ Travel Tip Tuesday: Adapter vs. Voltage Converter 🔌

A travel adapter only changes the shape of the plug so your device fits into the outlet.

A voltage converter changes the actual electrical voltage going into your device.

🇺🇸 The U.S. typically uses 110–120V
🌍 Many countries use 220–240V

Before packing your curling iron, straightener, or hair dryer, check the tiny print on it. If it says 100–240V, it’s dual voltage and you generally only need the correct adapter.

If it only says 120V, an adapter alone is not enough — you’ll need an appropriately rated voltage converter or a dual-voltage travel appliance.

And don’t worry… Bailey blowing up is just for dramatic effect. 😂 You’re not going to explode — but the wrong voltage can make your hair tool smoke, spark, overheat, ETC. 💨🔥

Adapter = changes the plug.
Converter = changes the voltage.

✈️ DON’T BE THE ONE WAVING FROM THE TERMINAL! 😂

Your departure time is NOT the time to stroll up to the gate. Many airlines require passengers to be onboard at least 15 minutes before departure—and international flights may have earlier cutoffs.

Once that aircraft door closes, they usually cannot reopen it just because you can still see the plane!

A few reminders:

✅ Be at the gate before boarding begins
✅ Keep airline-app notifications turned on
✅ Stay nearby—even if the flight is delayed
✅ Listen carefully to announcements for gate changes, boarding updates and final calls
✅ Wearing headphones? Keep one ear open!

The snack run can wait. The plane will not. 😂
