🚢 Big Changes for Carnival Cruisers! 🌊
As of September 1, 2026, Carnival Cruise Line has officially transitioned from the classic VIFP Club program to the all-new Carnival Rewards program!
If you submitted the transition application sent out by Carnival back in May to opt into the new program, your loyalty history and status are safely carried over. Here is a quick breakdown of how status and rewards work now:
* The Transition Application: To ensure past VIFP status rolled over smoothly, members needed to complete the transition application that Carnival originally sent out over the spring/summer.
* How to Earn Status: Status is now determined by Status Qualifying Stars (earned through eligible spend and casino play) rather than just days sailed. You earn 3 Stars for every $1 spent on eligible Carnival purchases.
* Flexible Redemption Points: Separate from your status stars, you earn Carnival Rewards Points (3 points per $1 spent) that can be freely redeemed for future cruise fares, shore excursions, spa treatments, specialty dining, and onboard purchases with no minimum balance required!
* Status Tiers & Carry-Overs: The program features four tiers—Red, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. Existing status from your transition application is protected through December 31, 2028, giving everyone a smooth adjustment period (Lifetime Diamond status is honored for legacy members, and Platinum members receive a 10,000-star boost).
* Milestone Recognition: Milestone rewards are calculated based on your total lifetime days sailed rather than the number of cruises taken.
