Our new location at 126 Clark point rd opens July 2nd, and our other location at 15 Mansell Ln is available anytime The Cranberry Cove Ferry departs from the *Beal’s Lobster Pier at 182 Clark Point Road, then stops at the *MANSET DOCK OWNED BY CRANBERRY ISLES * before departing for Cranberry Isles.

Edit: CCF will be cancelled allday today, swell at GCI still cranking and floats ramps are still a mess. We plan on running tomorrow as scheduled.

First half of the day is cancelled we will re evaluate after that. Wind it still screaming out of the east, with surge and swell at GCI. the floats we land at on gci have taken some damage from winds and are not safe to load and unload passengers at this time as ramps are barley connecting the floats. With big low tide plus surge swell we cannot land our big ferry at steps. Any and all questions comments or otherwise can be directed to our office.

Monday morning boats

The decision will be made tomorrow morning early when we can determine wind swell has settled down. Right now way to much wind and swell and surge. This storm has been a guessing game for everyone on timing and wind amount and what day would be worst. we prepared for worst hope for the best. we also need to determine if both manset dock and GCI dock still has ramps attached to floats which is a factor so we will post accordingly early tomorrow morning.

UPDATE ON FERRY
Friday 25th
We plan to run the commuter boat in morning 6:15/6:30. We will be using M/V Sutton for commuter run and CCF. We are then planning on trying to run the first three cranberry cove ferry trips ONLY . The last trip will be cancelled so that we can secure our ferries before the wind hits. Now keep in mind if weather gets to bad early we may have to cancel earlier then planned, so your best bet if you need to be on or off islands is to not wait until last min tomorrow because you might be stuck if you do.

So the last ferry from manset tentatively will be 1:30, the last ferry leaving LCI tentatively 2:10, the last ferry leaving GCI tentatively 2:30. Again last times could change if weather comes in hard sooner. Ferry will be cancelled Saturday and Sunday

Folks for those that don’t know they are giving some nasty weather for this Friday night into Saturday, a classic Nor Easter. As of right now we are not canceling the ferry however there is a strong possibility that could change as we get closer and get more updated forecast. If we cancel it would most likely be Friday afternoon through Saturday so we can secure our boats and get things out of harms way but that could change if storm comes in faster. This is a very powerful storm and currently no one can agree on how much it’s going to affect Maine coast. What we do know is it could produce very strong winds, tropical rain amounts, with an extreme high tide. So if you need to 💯 be somewhere Friday or Saturday I’d highly suggest leaving a day early incase cancellations happen.

Well our ferry crew Captain Bracy, and deckhand Jesse E has done their good deed for the day after noticing a sea bird known as a Cormorant in a dangerous life threatening situation for the bird, they exhausted all efforts to contact wildlife rescue, however Wildlife rescue had no one in area. so our crew then took on the task of rescuing this bird, bird was unable to fly or move as it was wrapped in fishing line with a mackerel tree with lure attached. The bird was safely caught using company skiff they threw blanket over bird wrapped bird in blanket secured the bill so crew could safely cut the line and untangled the bird without it causing harm to our crew as their bills are razor sharp, the bird was then safely released and flew away unharmed.

Just a reminder it’s fair day on Great cranberry (Wednesday Aug 5th ), and Wednesday’s as general rule are busy days on ferry without having an event going on. We do not do reservations on boat it’s first come first serve. We will do our best to get everyone and their stuff on board and get you where you need be on time, Please be patient with our staff on this potentially busy day, and listen to any instructions they may give you when it comes to luggage, freight, bikes or anything else.
