This is exactly why I always start with a complimentary consultation call.

Recently, I spoke with someone who had just returned from a bucket-list Mediterranean cruise. They loved seeing the incredible destinations, the history, the culture, and all the places they had dreamed about visiting.

But they were also a little disappointed.

Not because anything went wrong, but because the experience wasn't what they expected.

They had cruised the Caribbean before and assumed it would feel similar. Leisurely mornings with coffee on the balcony. Plenty of time to relax. Long afternoons by the pool.

A Mediterranean cruise is usually the opposite.

It's early mornings. Full-day excursions. Thousands of years of history waiting to be explored. Lots of walking. Lots of moving. Lots of "I can't believe I'm actually here" moments.

Neither experience is better than the other. They're just different.

That's why I spend time getting to know my clients before I ever make a recommendation. I want to understand how you like to travel, what past trips you've loved, what you didn't love, and what you're hoping this vacation will feel like.

Because the best vacation isn't the one everyone else is booking.
It's the one that feels like it was made for you.

Life is too short to wait for someday and it's also too short to spend your dream vacation wishing you had chosen something different.

What if the best part of a trip wasn’t checking off sights…but simply slowing down?

This inn-to-inn hiking journey through England’s Cotswolds isn’t about rushing from one sight to the next. No rushing. No crowds. Just beautiful scenery, cozy pubs, and the kind of travel that lets you truly be present.

The Cotswolds has a way of making you feel like you’ve stepped into a storybook and for a few days, you get to live inside it. 🇬🇧

Everyone talks about cruising Alaska…but what if I told you one of the most incredible Alaska experiences doesn’t involve a ship at all?

There’s still time to book Alaska this summer, and honestly, Interior Alaska might be one of the most underrated trips in North America.

This is the ultimate road trip.

🚗 Drive beneath snow-capped mountains that seem to go on forever

🚂 Ride the legendary Alaska Railroad through some of the most breathtaking scenery in the state

🐻 Go wildlife spotting for bears, moose, caribou, Dall sheep, and bald eagles

🏔️ Stand in awe of Denali National Park and Preserve and (if the weather cooperates) catch a glimpse of North America’s tallest peak

🥾 Hike trails surrounded by glaciers, wildflowers, and endless wilderness

🚁 Take a helicopter flight over glaciers

🚣 Float down pristine rivers

🐕 Meet sled dogs and learn about Alaska’s mushing culture

🛶 Paddle on glacier-fed lakes

🧊 Walk on a glacier

✈️ Experience a bush plane flight into the backcountry

🌌 Depending on timing, catch the Midnight Sun, or even the Northern Lights later in the season

☕ Explore charming towns like Talkeetna, Fairbanks, and Anchorage

🍺 Visit local breweries, coffee shops, and restaurants where the stories are often as memorable as the food

The best part? You can move at your own pace. Stay an extra day somewhere you love. Pull over for that mountain view. Take the scenic route.

Alaska isn’t just a cruise destination.

It’s a place that reminds you how big, wild, and beautiful the world really is. And sometimes the best adventures happen when you leave the ship behind.

Sunday thoughts…

Do you walk into the grocery store and ask the cashier how they’re paid?

Do you ask your hairdresser?

Your mechanic?

Your plumber?

Probably not.

Yet one of the first questions some people ask a travel advisor is, “How do you get paid?”

Now, don’t get me wrong, I am extremely transparent. If you ask, I’ll happily explain exactly how it works. Yes, there is commission involved.

But if the very first thing you’re focused on is how I’m compensated rather than the value, expertise, service, and support I’m providing, we’re probably not the right fit for each other.

I don’t sell vacations. I build relationships. I spend hours researching, planning, advocating, solving problems, and helping clients create experiences they’ll remember for years.

If your first question is about my paycheck, we’re likely starting from two very different places.

The amount of people asking me lately about Ireland self-drive trips is honestly fascinating to me. 😂

And I’m going to say something that may surprise people coming from a travel advisor…

I don’t totally get the appeal.

Hear me out.

The idea sounds dreamy at first. Rolling green hills. Tiny villages. Cozy pubs.

But then I picture myself actually driving it. Narrow roads. Rain. Opposite side of the road? Absolutely not. 😅

Meanwhile, my clients are over here saying, “That’s the fun part!”

And honestly…that’s what I love most about this job. Travel is personal. What sounds stressful to one person feels adventurous to someone else.

So while I may never want to drive through the Irish countryside myself, I love helping clients do it comfortably and realistically.

Because one thing I’ve learned from planning Ireland itineraries…a “3 hour drive” is almost never actually 3 hours. Sheep traffic is definitely a thing!

So I always build in extra time and space to breathe.

Because vacations shouldn’t feel like a race.

This was fun…AI definitely captured my traveling spirit!!

I say this with complete honesty and zero offense intended…

If the price matters more to you than the experience, I’m probably not the travel advisor for you - and that’s okay.

Because the way I work is deeply personal.

I’m not here to throw together the cheapest option and send you on your way. I’m here to learn how you want to feel when you travel. I want to know what matters to you, what stresses you out, what excites you, and what kind of memories you want to create.

I build relationships with my clients. I help plan bucket-list trips, answer panicked airport texts, monitor storms, recommend the little hidden gem restaurant they’ll still talk about years later, and think 3 steps ahead before they even know there’s a problem.

That level of care matters to me.

So yes…sometimes I’m going to recommend the hotel that’s in the better location instead of the cheapest one 45 minutes outside the city. Sometimes I’m going to suggest the private transfer, the better itinerary, the smaller tour, or the experience that makes the trip feel seamless instead of stressful.

Because value and cheapest are not always the same thing.

I want my clients to come home saying:
“That was one of the best experiences of my life.”

Not:
“Well…we saved $200.”

Travel is an investment in your life, your memories, your relationships, and your time and you deserve for it to feel meaningful.

That’s the kind of travel experience I believe in.

📸Picture of the Clermont Victoria, my go to hotel in London. It’s well worth the price for its location, amenities and impeccable personalized service.
