At 8:54 I received an emergency call from someone looking for some firewood because his furnace quit this evening. We discussed options and he decided he would come and pickup a back yard bag so he could stay warm until the technician got to him and got his furnace going.
At 9:45 he was leaving my place with his firewood. He was very happy that I was willing to serve him late at night and when it was already below zero outside tonight.
I did not change him any extra emergency or loading fees, unlike some other people selling firewood. I also gave him a bag of kindling to make sure he was able to get a fire started quickly, especially after hearing his child in the background when he called me.

Looks like we’re in for a cold week ahead. I have kiln dried firewood in stock and ready for pickup or delivery. The back yard bags fit in the back of most SUV’s, and the tractor bags fit in any full size pickup truck bed. These are my pickup options, but I could deliver them for an additional delivery fee. The tractor bags require a loader to unload with a minimum lift capacity of 850 lbs. The back yard bags can easily be moved around with a hand truck into your garage or shed.

I am available today for anyone who would like to pickup a back yard bag, or tractor bag of kiln dried firewood to prepare for the strong winds moving in later today and evening. Back yard bags fit in the back of almost all SUV’s , even 2 wide in larger SUV’s. The tractor bags fit in any pickup truck bed that has at least 4.5’ of bed length. I do have rain covers available for the tractor bags, and the back yard bags have a rain top built into the bags.

It appears that winter is officially here for its timeframe. It definitely caught all of us by surprise.
Firewood has been moving since July this year, which was a month earlier than usual. Seasoned firewood supply is limited already. I will have kiln dried firewood available year round, including all winter.
The customers who first purchased the kiln dried firewood in January/ February of this year have been very happy with the product. The feedback that have received back is that they use less of the kiln dried firewood versus the regular air dried firewood. They say even with it costing more up front, overall it’s a big difference because you use less overall.
Some of the advantages with kiln dried firewood are it’s much easier and faster to light, which gives you a quicker warmth. Another big advantage is that it’s completely insect and bug free as they cannot survive the heat from the kiln.

If you’re still looking for a little bit of wood to make your home warm and cozy, check out these smaller pickup options.
The back yard bags hold approximately 9 cubic feet of firewood and you can easily move them around into your garage or the back yard with a standard hand truck. We stack the firewood inside these bags, plus they have a waterproof cover on the top of them. This means you set it where you desire and you’re all done. No stacking and running back and forth required.
The larger tractor bags are a nice fit for someone with a pickup truck. We set right on your pickup bed with a machine and you’re all set to go. If you have a small tractor at your place that will safely lift 750 lbs you can handle these with your tractor and set inside under cover and no need for stacking the wood. These bags have a standard pallet underneath them for ease of handling and keeps the product up off the ground.

This winter has certainly been an old fashioned winter and has caused a lot inconveniences for most, or all of us.
Many folks and finding the firewood supply disappearing faster than normal.
After having an extremely busy fall delivering seasoned firewood, I was in the same position with seasoned firewood. This had me worried and that’s why I purchased kiln dried firewood in January so that I could still provide dry, hot burning firewood to customers.
