We were proud to welcome the SC7 Expedition to Swan Lake Iris Gardens and the Prisma Health Shot Pouch Greenway this morning! As part of South Carolina’s statewide initiative promoting conservation and outdoor recreation, participants enjoyed a peaceful walk through one of Sumter’s most iconic destinations.

Thank you to everyone who joined us—and be sure to join the group at Poinsett State Park tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM for the Revolutionary War hike!

Before there was a nation, there was St. Mark's.

As we commemorate America250 and celebrate Sumter250, we're exploring the places that connect our community to the founding of our country. Established in the 1750s, St. Mark's Parish was one of the earliest churches in the region, and its original church—built in 1767—was destroyed during the Revolutionary War. The beautiful Gothic Revival church that stands today was completed in 1855, preserving the legacy of a congregation whose story stretches back to the earliest days of South Carolina.
