Old Bear Honey We are a small Alaskan business, in the town of Glacier View, overlooking the Matanuska Glacier, along the Glenn Highway.

We sell raw, local honey, handcrafted vinegar, wine & mead, Alaskan made/grown and farm fresh products.

Dear all,

The peonies are holding up well in the cooler this year. We'll be back at the Honey Hut on Saturday starting around 10:00 a.m.. We are getting low on some varieties but there should be plenty to go around.

Dear all,

We still have peonies and only three weekends left to get them. We'll be at the Honey Hut on Saturday - tomorrow - starting around 10:00 a.m. We'll plan on selling peonies at the Honey Hut for the next three weekends as long as the weather holds. Once we get freezing temps, it will be a much greater challenge to keep the flowers healthy.

PEONIES & PUZZLES! Lorraine, with Glacier View Peonies, is here with her peonies again. Dear all,

Thanks for your continued support of this rural business in Glacier View. We will be back at the Honey Hut this Saturday for the Vendor Market and then on Sunday, we will be opening up the field for a U-Pick event starting at 10:00 a.m.

U-Pick event trailhead is at MP 93.3. Follow the signs back one mile and stay to the right on the trail.

Dear all,

It is with a bit of sadness and a great deal of frustration that I have to let you know that the peonies are not yet ready. I was able to harvest a half dozen flowers this morning. I will not be at the Honey Hut this weekend as a result.

The daytime temps have been in the low to mid 50's while nighttime temps have been in the 40's. This has really hampered the blossoms opening up. And has put a very big kink in my summer plans. Yesterday's windstorm didn't help either. I'm still hopeful for next weekend and will keep you all posted.
