✨ A Day in Patmos — Walking in the Footsteps of St. John 🇬🇷

Today’s journey brought me to the beautiful Greek island of Patmos, a place steeped in history, faith, and breathtaking scenery.

One of the highlights was visiting the Cave of the Apocalypse, where tradition holds that St. John received the visions recorded in the Book of Revelation. Standing in this sacred place and learning about its history was truly a memorable experience.

From there, I visited the Monastery of Saint John the Theologian, perched high above the island in the historic settlement of Chora. Founded in the 11th century, the monastery is surrounded by whitewashed homes, winding cobblestone streets, and incredible views over the Aegean Sea. The entire area has such a peaceful and timeless atmosphere. 🇬🇷✨

Patmos is more than just a beautiful Greek island—it’s a destination where history, spirituality, culture, and spectacular scenery come together.

🇬🇷✨ A beautiful day in Syros, Greece! ✨🇬🇷

Today, Gabrielle and I enjoyed a lovely day exploring the beautiful island of Syros. We took a leisurely walk through the charming area, did a little shopping, and enjoyed the relaxed Greek island atmosphere. 🛍️🌊

We stopped for a delicious Greek salad and souvlaki, paired with a wonderful Greek rosé, all while taking in a beautiful view of the harbor. 🍷🥗 The perfect way to enjoy a day in Greece!

🇬🇷 Fun fact: Syros is the capital of the Cyclades and is home to Ermoupoli, known for its elegant neoclassical architecture and beautiful harbor.

🇫🇷✨ A Beautiful Site Inspection in Nice!

During my time on the French Riviera, I had the pleasure of visiting the stunning Hôtel Palais de la Méditerranée, part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt.

A special thank you to Tina, Sales Manager, for taking the time to welcome me, enjoy a lovely brunch together, and personally show me around this beautiful property. I always appreciate the opportunity to experience hotels firsthand so I can confidently recommend them to my clients.

Located on Nice’s iconic Promenade des Anglais, Hôtel Palais de la Méditerranée beautifully combines its Art Deco heritage with contemporary Riviera luxury. From the elegant accommodations and Mediterranean views to the pool, wellness facilities and exceptional location, this is a property that captures the spirit of Nice beautifully.

One of the highlights is Zouzou Riviera, the hotel’s restaurant, bar and panoramic terrace on the third floor. The name pays tribute to Joséphine Baker and her 1934 film Zouzou, celebrating the glamour and carefree spirit of the Roaring Twenties. With sweeping views over the Baie des Anges, Mediterranean-inspired cuisine and a lively Riviera atmosphere, it’s a wonderful gathering place from breakfast through dinner and into the evening. ✨🥂🌊

I especially loved seeing how the history and Art Deco character of the Palais de la Méditerranée have been incorporated into a fresh, contemporary luxury experience.

✨ 18 DAYS • 2 BACK-TO-BACK VOYAGES • 1 INCREDIBLE JOURNEY ✨

What an unforgettable experience it has been aboard the beautiful Silver Ray! 🚢✨

On August 30, I boarded in Monte Carlo for my first voyage, sailing from Monaco to Barcelona. Then, without stepping off the ship for long, I turned around and started my second voyage from Barcelona on September 5 — continuing my Mediterranean adventure all the way back to Monte Carlo tomorrow, September 17.

Along the way, I’ve experienced an incredible collection of destinations:

🇲🇨 Monte Carlo, Monaco
🇪🇸 Palamós — including a wonderful day exploring Púbol and the Dalí connection
🇪🇸 Barcelona
🇪🇸 Gibraltar — shopping, spectacular views of the Rock and a little duty-free fun
🇪🇸 Málaga — Picasso, beautiful Andalusian culture and a little spa indulgence
🇪🇸 Cartagena — including the wine country of Jumilla and a taste of Licor 43
🇪🇸 Valencia — paella, Spanish culture and a wonderful culinary experience
🇪🇸 Alicante
🇪🇸 Ibiza — including an unforgettable luxury beach-club day and a visit to the Dolce & Gabbana pop-up
🇪🇸 Alcúdia, Mallorca — wandering the beautiful Old Town and taking in a different side of Mallorca

And, of course, so much time simply enjoying the Silver Ray herself — incredible dining, beautiful suites, exceptional service, evenings at sea, new friendships, shipboard events and those little luxury moments that make cruising so special.

This trip has also given me the opportunity to experience destinations and luxury experiences firsthand — exactly the kind of research I love doing for my clients.

After 18 days on Silver Ray, I can honestly say I’ve seen the Mediterranean from a whole new perspective. 🌊☀️🥂

Tomorrow, I’ll say goodbye to Silver Ray in Monte Carlo… but thankfully, the journey continues. ✈️🇬🇷

✨ A Very Special Evening at the Captain’s Table 🥂⚓️

Last night aboard the Silver Ray, I had the incredible honor of being invited to dine at the Captain’s Table with Captain Giovanni Schiaffino.

It was such a memorable evening, filled with wonderful conversation, new connections, and the exceptional hospitality that makes Silversea so special. There’s something truly magical about being invited to the Captain’s table and experiencing the evening from such a unique perspective. ✨

Dinner was delicious — a lovely Dover sole, Caesar salad, and beautiful wines from Portugal, all enjoyed in the elegant setting of Atlantide.

I’m so grateful for experiences like this and for the people I meet along the way. This is one of those special travel memories I’ll carry with me long after I leave the Silver Ray. ❤️

🍷 Wine, History & a Very Unique Dining Experience in Jumilla, Spain 🇪🇸

Today’s adventure from Silver Ray took me into the Jumilla wine region of southeastern Spain for a visit to Bodegas BSI.

One of the most fascinating things I discovered? These enormous wooden wine vessels were once used to store wine — and today, some have been creatively transformed into private dining and event spaces, complete with seating inside! 🍷✨

It’s such a fun example of how a winery can preserve its history while creating memorable experiences for today’s travelers.

Jumilla is known for its Monastrell grapes, a variety that thrives in this warm, dry region and produces rich, full-bodied wines.

🍷 A Taste of Jumilla Wine Country 🇪🇸

Today’s excursion from Silver Ray took us into the beautiful Jumilla wine region of southern Spain, a fascinating area where winemaking and sustainability go hand in hand.

Jumilla is home to 42 wineries, and one of the things I found most interesting was learning how the vineyards thrive in this hot, dry climate. The region is especially known for Monastrell, a grape variety that is naturally well suited to drought conditions and requires relatively little water. 🍇

We visited BSE Winery and Pacheco Winery, learning about their wines, the local grape varieties, and how winemakers work with the challenging climate rather than against it.

Of course, the best part was tasting the wines! 🍷🥂 There is something special about experiencing a destination through its food and wine — and Jumilla gave us a wonderful taste of authentic southern Spain.

Another incredible day exploring beyond the usual tourist path with Silversea. ✨
