Able to assist with your travel planning needs, big or small, land or sea. .....................................................................
How this works:
My services come at no cost to you. Travel companies

pay us out of the same fares they collect regardless of how you book your trip. It's one of those rare win-win situations. Whether you saved up for years for your very first cruise, travel regularly in Concierge class, or anything in between, you matter to me! It's a privilege to be a part of your vacation planning, and to assist you in creating memories to last a lifetime. A little bit about my philosophy:
I grew up in what often feels like the last days of true customer service. I also watched family members in business treat clients like friends. Many became family friends. I knew it liked it, but I don't think I fully understood it was special. Probably as a result of these things, and in light of so many frustrating changes, I find myself frequently complaining these days, about what I have come to call "customer disservice." If you find you're impressed when someone at a local restaurant or 800 number is knowledgable and takes good care of you, you may know what I mean. I really dislike using such clichΓ© words, but my goal truly is to try and "be the change" I want to see. As a travel advisor, dealing with large companies, I certainly can't control everything, but for my part, I aim to do my best to advocate for you. To be forthcoming and upfront, reachable whenever reasonably possible, answer your questions, and stay with you not only through the booking process but beyond it, so that you can focus on the fun parts. I want to treat you the way I'd like to be treated. These are important values to me.

I did a very different thing for me. I decided I would attend my parent agency's National Conference at Universal Orlando Resort. It was a wild ride for me. The "Jungle" theme fit well. Lol. It was a snap decision several months ago, ultimately leading to a fair amount of panic as it got close, when it really hit me how many early mornings, long hours of trying to sit still, and speaking with so many people I don't know (and none I do know), would be involved.πŸ™ˆ Not generally favorite things of Night Owls with things like Tourette's, some social anxiety etc. I've also gotten used to spending so much time with just cats. -And not having to care about about how I look.😬 In these situations I'm always very Alice in Wonderland, and part Baby from Dirty Dancing, "I carried a watermelon."πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈlol. This was no exception. I didn't "step out of my comfort level", I dove out of it from a 2nd floor window. πŸ˜† It was a lot for me, but it was good. I haven't been in anything like school since the early-mid 90s, so it was an interesting experience. I also met a lot of people I'd conversed with before and got to put a live face to their names. I felt a fair amount of pressure with a very full schedule, and still trying my best to keep up with those of you who needed me, and I thank you so much for your grace and patience. ❀️
Over that week there were 5 early mornings, long days, far too little sleep, sooo many new faces, 2 evening gatherings, a Gala dinner, 2 nominations, a win, 1 pretty bad fall on my hotel's cement floor (oops), and many, many classes/seminars, meetings, and conversations about ocean cruises, river cruises, expeditition cruises, Theme Parks, resorts, hotels, insurances, and even safaris! πŸ¦›πŸ¦›πŸ¦› (Long-term bucket list item for this wildlife lover!) I gushed about Disney to a Disney rep, met representatives of companies I've worked with before, and learned from others still new to me. I did somehow manage to get myself up, into the shower, ready, and over to the convention center- on time every day. I'm not sure I would have put money on that. Lol

After a long period of consideration, I also quietly decided to join an organization within my agency that may better serve my clients who do generally look for more refined vacations such as those on smaller ships.

I have a lot of refreshed and new information to process through, some prospective great "new" companies to partner with, and quite a few new entries on my to do list. Hopefully this will help me help you.

After all of this, I took long overdue time to play in the Universal parks and get reaquainted with them. I'll get to that in other posts. Be prepared for a lot of photos of Hogwarts.πŸͺ„πŸ§™β€β™€οΈβ€οΈ

Did you know I plan Universal Parks Vacations too?

Halloweentime at Disneyland, at last! Their outfits are amazing this year. πŸ₯° Halloween is also in full-swing over this way at Disney World too! My favorite Disney Park time. At my house it looks a bit like Disney Halloween all year round, but I have been so anxious this year for all of this to start. I've genuinely been almost oddly excited! πŸŽƒπŸ¦‡ It's that time of year for all the decorations, the special treats, seasonal character outfits, and nighttime parties from now through Christmastime.
Contact me if you're looking to get in some Disney parks time too.

Anyone else here excited about the news of this guy coming back to Disney World after all these years? I've spoken about my first trip to Disney World in 1989 (when this photo was taken) and I was all about Figment. (And of course the Haunted Mansion) Not much has changed in 37 years. 😁 I still have my very first Figment, and it's safe to say that collection has grown. Which versions of Journey Into Imagination did you know?

You mostly hear about Pompeii, and I did go there while in Italy this past fall, but I also went someplace else that seems a lot less talked about, particularly in the cruise groups. Ercolano (Herculaneum) That 1984 National geographic issue that sparked this interest in me as a young child, and its famous cover were actually of this place. It was a Seaside village. A luxury vacation spot. Compared with Pompeii, it remained more in tact when buried by volcanic materials, and later, unearthed. In my photos you will see the Boathouse where people tried to flee. Unfortunately, moving to sea was not the great option it might have been otherwise, because there was also a Tsunami. I can't imagine the horror of having the warning, making it down, and knowing there was nothing that could be done. The skeleton molds show people as found, huddled together in their final moments. Pompeii left spaces where bodies had been. Herculaneum left these actual skeletons to find, though these are replicas so that the actual ones could be preserved. In the photos you'll see bits of ornate tile, frescos, neighborhoods, shops, that remained more in tact due to location. There are also large pieces of the boats they tried to escape in. I have been meaning to share so many things for so long now. Ercolano - Parco Archeologico

I know I've been a bit MIA here between work and the huge groups I manage that require a lot of work, but I think there's something that may need to be said. This is going to be a very different topic I normally wouldn't even bring up.

This is for my travel agent friends who might have gotten pulled into marketing schemes, are paying ridiculous fees, have been stuck with extremely low pay etc. and anyone else who's being tempted by misleading advertising, often pushed by social media influencers etc. (Please be oh so careful on that last part, it's exactly what prompted this post)

There are companies out there that are always trying to market to you for one specific purpose. You may have already fallen into one of these traps. Multi-level Marketing organizations and others who act enough like them (often while denying it.) Some are run or pushed by influencers, using their platform to use you. The more bodies, the better. It may sound good. They may promise you all sorts of things. They'll tell you how easy everything is and how you should just do it. In most cases, this comes with pretty high fees. The funny thing is, you won't find people who really do this work every day doing that. They're busy doing the actual job, not in business to basically sell "business."

The reality of all this is quite different: The responsibility. The amount of work. All the details. The fact that in some regard, you'll never actually fully go on vacation again. There's no "disconnecting." I also keep getting contacted by very upset people looking for help, stuck with travel agents from these sorts of organizations that gave them wrong information, charged them extra amounts in made up "packages", and in many cases aren't even reachable. That's often the result of these business practices. Those people often didn't know what they were getting into and perhaps didn't mean for it to be actual work. People with agendas just wanted it to sound fun. It's an easily verifiable statistic that the overwhelming majority of people paying fees under these companies earn little or nothing at all. These companies are intended to make relatively few people money, not to assure you're doing the job well, or even doing it at all. There are also other companies promoting in similar misleading ways, and will pay you a fraction of anything you actually earn even if you work hard. It doesn't seem to matter enough to them how dangerous it is for everyone else.

Some of these companies may present numbers, like percentages that may sound good, but the funny thing about percentages is that a high percentage of a low number is actually quite a terrible amount. They're counting on you not knowing this. That big number showing on their site, often means actually very little for you. That's really only the beginning of the misleading claims, which is what led to me making this post. I've heard from at least a few people already who fell into influencer promoted schemes and already got out.

This can be a wonderful field, under the right circumstances, for the right people. With the time and headspace to dedicate to it. Like any career. I happen to be very fond of it myself. It couldn't be more essential to only be part of the right kind of organizations that act with integrity. Usually the ones you WON'T see advertising to pull in as many unsuspecting victims as possible. I feel it is so important that we try to restore faith that was broken by some of these unscrupulous practices. If you happen to be one of my travel agent friends, and have fallen into any of these traps, or want to make sure you haven't (because they lie) or have questions and want to talk, please feel free to reach out.

I can offer free prepaid service charges (gratuities) on many Norwegian Cruise Line sailings again. We've been waiting for this valuable offer to come back around. There is also Nextcruise Double-up right now! Let me know if you're looking for your next NCL Cruise! Certain conditions do apply.

I was thinking about this so I thought I'd share. One of the absolutely adorable extra little details at Disneyland Hotel. πŸ₯° I already want to go back!
Btw, I've had people who only know me as the cruise girl and not my Disney fanatic side, ask if I know someone who books Disney. It's me. I'm that person, if you're looking for Disney Vacations.

We kept seeing mention of this place, and found the donut's lack of certainty about what it was intriguing so one night we decided to go see what it's about. Times Square is one of those places that has all sorts of interesting things. We went pretty basic, with glazed and chocolate, but there are some wild options.
