Can you believe we are less than a week away? Don’t forget once you board to go check in at your muster station so they can cross your name off the list. If people don’t check in, it delays our disembarkation. For anyone that boards around 1:00, after I check in at my muster station, I’ll be on the observation deck wearing an 8 on my hat if you want to come up there and meet some new people.

If you’re having trouble posting on this website Facebook thinks this is a business page when I set it up to be a question and answer page for anyone on our cruise. Once again Facebook got it wrong. You can always reach me on messenger especially when we have to sign in because people have a lot of questions then. Sorry about facebook.

If you haven’t already looked at the excursions offered, look at that but keep in mind how much time we spend in port. You can book your excursions now if you want. We spend all day in Skagway. I have booked two excursions and still have time to walk around the entire town to shop. We spend a long time in Juneau as well. I’m doing one excursion and then shopping and then end my night at the Red Dog Saloon. It’s a fun place. When we get to Ketchikan, you have time for either one excursion or shopping. There was an argument between the Ketchikan government and NCL so NCL bought property just out of town and built their own dock. There will be plenty of shuttles to take you to town to shop or a shuttle to take you to your excursion. Because the new dock is like 20 minutes out of town, that cuts into our time at that city. That one you really have to watch your time so you don’t become one of those people running to the dock and miss the ship leaving. There will be plenty of shuttles to bring you back to the dock. On the day we visit the glacier, layer up! The closer we get to the glacier, it amazing how cold it gets. You’ll want a winter coat, gloves and maybe a knit hat if you are like me and like to keep your ears warm. It will take a couple of hours to get there and you will notice the temperature drop as we get closer. They open up the front of the ship so plenty of people can fit there. Some people watch from the top deck. They serve hot chocolate out there and they have a park ranger or two on board to explain what we are looking at. It’s truly beautiful. We are only in Victoria for 4 hours. You don’t have to do an excursion if nothing appeals to you and still get off the ship. The city isn’t a far walk from the dock and on a Friday night, most places are still open. There’s shopping and eating. My feet were killing me by the end of the week so on my way back to the dock, I flagged down a cab. They take American money and it’s not a long ride. I noticed on the app that they have opened up the dinner places for reservations so you can do that now. We are still around 100 days out before you can do the check in. You will need to print out your e-docs for when you finally get to the front of the line to check in. Don’t forget your passport! Those are all the tips I can think of now. Comment below if you have questions and I’ll do my best to answer. I don’t know much about the new offer NCL has now. I have always used “Free at Sea” and I had booked by the deadline so that I was grandfathered in to that offer. I think I get to use both but I don’t have any answers for you about the new offer NCL has. That’s all new to me. If you aren’t a drinker and just want a Diet Coke, I suggest you bring a Tervis. They serve the soda in a cocktail cup so bringing a Tervis will help you from not walking up to the bar every few minutes. I’ve also heard that the NCL staff is going to be more diligent in monitoring people who put a towel on a chair by the pool and expect to save it all day. I think they give you 30 minutes to come back and then remove the towel. This has been a problem on every cruise I’ve ever taken and they have finally listened to the customer. It’s very obnoxious. Let me know if you have any questions and I will do my best to answer them. Happy cruising!

For those of you that will be flying out of Seattle after the cruise, let me introduce you to Port Valet. It’s a free service that will take your luggage to the airport the night before we leave. You can Google port valet and click on enroll now . It has a few questions for you about the ship and your flight out once you’ve booked it. You can also sign up on board by Tuesday. During the cruise, your stew will bring you boarding passes and luggage tags so list how many bags you need to check. Then set your bags outside your room by 9 pm on Friday and the stews will take them. The only catch is your flight has to be at noon or after. I found one that left at noon and then Delta moved the flight to 11:59 am which screwed me up. I had to change my flight and now I’m in a battle with Delta for a refund because they are saying I changed the flight. I did. After you changed the flight. Unless your airline is being a pain, it’s a great service. Two years ago, I saw horrible pictures of people trying to check their bags at the airport and the line extended into the parking garage. You get to disembark at 8 am on Saturday and there’s usually a shuttle that takes you to the airport. If you are doing an excursion in Victoria, just pack up and leave your bags outside before you go. As far as toiletries in the morning since your luggage is gone, I use the free toothbrush and toothpaste my dentist gives me and hit the travel section at Walmart or Target for small deodorant and face cream. Then I throw it out. I walk off with my backpack that I walked on with. If you have a late flight home, they do offer an excursion to see Seattle to kill time instead of sitting in the airport. Just thought I’d let you all know about this free service that is fantastic.

Is anyone else having trouble with the new app NCL put out? I’m missing one excursion and I don’t see my streaming internet. I see where I paid for it but I only know it’s the internet by the price. Amanda
