I think one of the underrated parts of traveling is having something to look forward to. There’s something about knowing a trip is on the calendar. You start thinking about what you’re going to wear. You look up restaurants. You save random videos about the destination. You check the hotel pictures again even though you’ve already seen them 47 times.

And every once in a while you think, “I’m going to be THERE soon.” The actual trip is obviously the best part, but I really do enjoy the anticipation leading up to it too.

Mine might be: We have to watch the sunrise (on a beach vacation) at least once while we’re there.

What’s your rule?

I love a beautiful property, but the room matters too! Especially when it has private pool!! Because at some point on vacation, I want to come back to my room, get comfortable, and actually enjoy where I’m staying.

📍 Secrets Moxché Playa del Carmen

I’m looking at these photos and thinking this might be the kind of vacation where I have absolutely no desire to leave the property! A beautiful room, a good pool, great food, and nowhere I have to be. Sometimes that’s the entire itinerary!
