Celebrate two special milestones with Seneca County Park District as they commemorate America's 250th anniversary and 30 years of serving the Seneca County community!🧺

Join Seneca Parks on Saturday, October 24, from 11am to 1pm at Fruth Wetland Nature Preserve for an afternoon of outdoor fun, games, prizes, picnicking, and exploring the beautiful preserve!

Admission is FREE, with commemorative picnic totes and meals available for advance purchase! All guests are encouraged to register, even if they do not plan to purchase a Picnic Package, to help with event planning. Those interested in purchasing a picnic meal or tote must place their orders by Monday, October 19, at 4pm.

Pack up the family, enjoy the fall weather, and celebrate 30 years of Seneca Parks while making new memories outdoors!

Don’t let the deadline sneak up on you! 👻

This Friday, October 16, is the last day to register for the Seneca County Halloween Parade!

The parade steps off Saturday, October 24, at 10 a.m. in Downtown Tiffin. Get your group together, plan your costumes, and help bring Halloween spirit to the streets as our community gathers for a morning of festive fun!

Lineup information and parade details will be emailed to registered participants during parade week.

A familiar piece of Tiffin’s history turns 100 tomorrow!

Unveiled in 1926 through the generosity of Meshech Frost, the Indian Maiden Statue stands along a riverfront transformed after the devastating 1913 flood. The area once known as Water Street became Frost Parkway in his honor. It’s a story of rebuilding and investing in our community that still surrounds us today.

Join The Seneca County Museum tomorrow, Sunday, October 11, at 2:30 p.m. to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Frost Park’s dedication and the statue’s unveiling.

Due to forecasted rain, the celebration has moved indoors to the Seneca County Museum, located at 28 Clay Street in Tiffin. Come learn a little more about the history we pass every day!

We're bringing home TWO statewide awards from the Ohio Travel Association's Conference on Travel! 🏆

We're excited to share that we received a RUBY Award for our Seneca County Community Calendar promotional video and a Citation of Excellence for our Experience the Legend, Experience Fostoria targeted marketing campaign celebrating Big Boy No. 4014's visits to Fostoria!

This year's competition featured a record-breaking 267 entries from across Ohio, making this recognition even more meaningful.

Even better, this marks our fifth consecutive year receiving statewide recognition, bringing our total to 16 awards over the past five years!

A special thank you to Ben Bodart of The Bodarts - Wedding Photography + Corporate Cinematography for producing our award-winning video and to the community partners who helped make these campaigns possible.

We're proud of the work our team continues to do to showcase Seneca County, and we're grateful to see those efforts recognized alongside some of the best tourism organizations in Ohio!

Bryce Riggs, Donna Gross, and Marisa Stephens are in Wilmington this week for the Ohio Travel Association’s Ohio Conference on Travel, joining tourism professionals from across the state.

The agenda hits close to home, with sessions on helping communities tell their stories, the role of the arts in attracting visitors, and giving travelers a reason to stop and explore.

Those conversations connect directly to what makes our community special, from Downtown Tiffin and our local shops and restaurants to the experiences waiting to be discovered across Seneca County.

Planting history and leaving a legacy in Seneca County!🌳

Last week, community leaders and partners gathered at the Attica Fairgrounds for the official dedication of Seneca County’s America 250-Ohio Heritage Tree.

Heritage Trees: Planting History is a statewide America 250-Ohio initiative placing a commemorative tree in each of Ohio’s 88 counties, creating living symbols that honor the past while growing alongside our communities for generations to come.

Here in Seneca County, the America 250 committee took that idea one step further.

In addition to the official county Heritage Tree, Seneca County expanded the initiative to reach all 15 townships. Each township received a red maple tree to plant in a meaningful location, creating a countywide legacy of America’s 250th anniversary and ensuring communities throughout Seneca County have their own piece of this historic celebration.

This project was made possible through the generosity of the Seneca County Commissioners, who covered the cost of the trees and associated labor. A special thank you also goes to Choice Lawn Care and Gardens in Republic for purchasing, delivering, and planting the 15 township trees.

As these trees grow throughout Seneca County, they will serve as a lasting reminder of this milestone year and the history, communities, and people who call Seneca County home.

Join the America 250 Seneca County Committee at the Attica Fairgrounds at 3 PM for the dedication of Seneca County’s America 250 Heritage Trees.

🔴 October 6 | Souper America 250
The Stemtown Historical Society & Museum will host Souper America 250 at the Historical Octagon House & Farm beginning at 5 PM.

🔴 October 11 | Frost Park 100th Anniversary
The Seneca County Museum will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the dedication of Frost Park and unveiling of the Indian Maiden Statue at 2:30 PM.

🔴 October 25 | Memoirs of a Marauder Man
Hear stories from a WWII B-26 bomber crewman during this special Seneca County Museum program at 2 PM.

We’re hiring!

Two full-time, in-person opportunities are now open with the Seneca County Collaborative: Tourism Manager and Community Development Director.

The Tourism Manager will lead Destination Seneca County, including tourism promotion, partner engagement, visitor services, digital content, and creative work. The Community Development Director will lead City and County CDBG administration, Seneca County Land Bank administration, and community development projects.

Applications are due Friday, October 23.

A Fostoria fall tradition is back for its 15th year!🍷 🧀

The Fostoria Community Arts Council invites the community to its Annual W**e & Cheese Event on Saturday, October 17 from 7pm to 10pm at the BANKquet Hall.

This annual fundraiser brings together great w**e, delicious food, live music, and plenty of fall and Halloween fun. Ryan Hensley will provide live entertainment throughout the evening.

Proceeds from the event help FCAC continue bringing the arts to the Fostoria community through free programs including Lunch on the Lawn, the Summer Concert Series, children’s workshops, exhibitions, performances, and more.

Tickets are $20 in advance and are available at Payne Brothers Florist on South Union Street in Fostoria or from FCAC Board members. Tickets will also be available at the door for $25. Attendees must be 21 or older.

Come raise a glass and support the arts in Fostoria!
