1976 called... it wants its floats back! 🇺🇸

We’re throwing it back 50 years for the 2026 Tiffin Seneca Heritage Festival and America 250 with the Tiffin-Seneca Heritage Festival Parade & Float Flashback Decorating Contest!

Choose one of the eight historic floats pictured below from Tiffin’s 1976 Bicentennial Parade and bring it back to life for America’s 250th birthday. Put your own spin on the original design, gather your group, and get creative for your chance to take home an award!

In 2026, the America 250-Ohio celebration highlights a different theme each month, showcasing the people, places, and stories that make Ohio unique. This August, we’re celebrating “Ohio Goes to the Fair,” honoring the agricultural traditions and community spirit that have helped shape our state for generations.

Here in Seneca County, our history is rooted in the soil, fields, farms, and communities that surround us. From generations of agricultural heritage to the fairs and festivals that continue bringing our communities together, these traditions remain an important part of the Seneca County story.

Grab a bite of flavor & fun at tonight's Taste in Downtown Tiffin event and Tiffin Park & Recreation's Annual Band Bash!

From 5pm-8pm, head to Jefferson Street and the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library parking lot to sample your way through 24 local food vendors at the biggest Taste in Downtown Tiffin yet! Purchase $1 tickets, then mix and match samples from local restaurants and vendors to create your perfect meal.

Then, stick around for Band Bash ’26 beginning at 7pm, featuring performances from Calvert Catholic Schools, Heidelberg University, Tiffin City Schools, and Tiffin University marching bands!

Come hungry, try something new, find a new favorite, and stay for the show!

The 2026 Tiffin-Seneca Heritage Festival Parade is celebrating America 250 with history, community, and a little bit of a flashback!🇺🇸

The Tiffin-Seneca Public Library has been named Grand Marshal of the 2026 Tiffin Seneca Heritage Festival Parade in recognition of its dedication to local America 250 efforts throughout the year. The parade steps off at 10am on Saturday, September 19, in downtown Tiffin and is sponsored by Brian Bower-loanDepot.

This year’s America 250 theme is also bringing a piece of 1976 back to the parade with the Float Flashback Decorating Contest! Participants can choose from eight historic floats from Tiffin’s Bicentennial celebration and create their own 2026 interpretation, or design an original America 250-themed float.

Work in progress...🖌

The first signature project of the Tiffin Arts Partnership Program is officially taking shape at Hedges-Boyer Park! Local artist Claudia Riedy has been hard at work transforming the back of the concession stand into a beautiful masterpiece, and we are loving how the mural is coming together.

Thank you to the City of Tiffin Government, Tiffin Park & Recreation, Tiffin Arts Advisory Council, Tiffin Municipal Arts Commission, and everyone who supported this project and helped bring it to fruition.

There are still a few finishing touches to go, but it should be completed soon. Stay tuned for the final reveal and to learn more about the story and inspiration behind Tiffin’s Roots & Rising!
