When you’re traveling internationally, a credit card terminal may offer to convert your purchase into U.S. dollars for you. It sounds convenient, but that conversion, can come with a less favorable exchange rate or additional markup.

So when you’re given the choice:

🇺🇸 U.S. Dollars
🇫🇷🇮🇹🇪🇸 Local Currency

👉 Choose the LOCAL CURRENCY.

Then let your credit card network handle the conversion.

Such a little thing…but knowing which button to push can save you money throughout a trip.

TRAVEL TIP:
If your flight is canceled, get in line AND get on your phone. While everyone queues at the customer-service desk, simultaneously use the airline app or call. You may be rebooked before you ever reach the counter.

Across the Baltic Sea to beautiful Tallinn! We explored the cobblestone streets of its medieval Old Town, learned about Estonia’s incredible history and independence, stepped through centuries-old doorways, enjoyed medieval music inside a historic church, and even visited Raeapteek, one of Europe’s oldest continuously operating pharmacies, dating back to 1422!

We finished with great food, local b**r and c***r, and a visit to the historic Tallinn Song Festival Grounds, an important site in Estonia’s peaceful “Singing Revolution.”

So much history, charm and culture packed into one stop and another reminder of why we love discovering places we may never have experienced on our own.

Next stop: Nynäshamn, Sweden! 🇸🇪

This is what I call cultural immersion.

There’s something about watching a fresh crêpe being made right in front of you… and then comes the Nutella. Lots of Nutella.

Could I get a crêpe at home? Sure.

Does it taste the same standing on a street in Paris? Absolutely not.

Travel isn’t just about what you see, it’s about what you taste along the way.

And yes, I ate the whole thing.

Did you know the Eiffel Tower was originally intended to stand for only 20 years? Built for the 1889 World’s Fair, it was supposed to be dismantled in 1909, but its usefulness for radio communications helped save it. More than 135 years later, it’s one of the most recognizable landmarks in the world.
