Let's go for a hike in the monument after dark and see what interesting glow in the dark flora and fauna enjoy the night with us.

Meet Ranger Amber and entomologist Raven Patrick at the Devil's Kitchen Picnic Area on July 31 at 8:30pm. The hike will cover two miles round trip on the No Thoroughfare Canyon trail. Bring water, snacks if you like, and hiking poles. We will have a limited number of black lights to loan out, and you are welcome to bring your own.

Dinosaur National Monument on the Colorado-Utah border protects a working quarry wall of Morrison Formation sandstone containing the bones of over 1,500 individual dinosaurs from 11 different species, displayed in the rock as a permanent exhibition inside a modern visitor facility.

It is the largest and most accessible dinosaur bone concentration open to the public anywhere on Earth.

The monument also protects over 210,000 acres of extraordinary canyon landscape carved by the Green and Yampa Rivers, offering some of the finest multi-day rafting in the American West.

Those who combine a fossil quarry visit with a river trip describe it as the finest combination of geological heritage and outdoor adventure in the entire Colorado Plateau.
