DINNER & A GHOST HUNT BENEFIT | HALLSTROM HOUSE

We need YOUR support! At Indian River Hauntings LLC , we believe in a strong community and in preserving our rich history. We are teaming up again with the River County Historical Society this October 18 for a benefit Dinner and Ghost Hunt.

Your night will include a dinner at the Hallstrom House and a presentation introducing you to the world of Paranormal Investigation and Research. Later, you will join our team in an actual paranormal investigation of the Hallstrom property.

DID YOU KNOW....GHOST MONTH | INDIAN RIVER HAUNTINGS

Ghost Month is a tradition in China, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Vietnam, as well as for Taoists and Buddhists. On the day of the Ghost Festival, people will see food offerings on the tables in residential and commercial areas. Temples will host praying ceremonies along with food offerings, and burning fake paper money/Joss Paper, and incense. Food and paper money are symbols to feed the spirits and provide them money to use during Ghost Month.

What shouldn't you do during this time?
People should avoid swimming in the river, lake, ocean
Do not whistle or hang a wind chime
Weddings should not be held during this time
Moving or buying a house is prohibited

With that said, many younger Chinese no longer take them seriously. Therefore, you see many deep-discount deals for wedding photography packages, wedding banquets, and honeymoon travel. Young Chinese couples would tie the knot during this month if there is no objection from the parents and grandparents!
