Geology isn't just a textbook subject!

What if your student could hold the evidence in their hands, investigate real rocks and fossils, and learn to think like a geologist?

Even more important: what if your student could learn to think with a biblical worldview?

Geology can be fascinating, hands-on, and surprisingly relevant!

Students can examine rocks and minerals, explore fossils and dinosaurs, investigate landforms and rock layers, conduct geological projects, and ask the big questions about Earth's history—all while learning to approach science from a biblical worldview. They'll learn how to defend their faith through geology and be able to disciple others in truth!

And they don't just sit and watch a recording.

These are LIVE, interactive classes with Patrick Nurre, a geologist and experienced teacher.

This fall, Northwest Treasures is offering:

✅ Earth Science for Middle School — Grades 4–8
A hands-on introduction to rocks, minerals, fossils, dinosaurs, volcanoes, landforms, oceans, and Earth history. Students receive a collection of 47 rock, mineral, and fossil samples to work with.

✅ Practical Geology — Grades 9–12
Go beyond memorizing geology vocabulary. Students work with 90+ geological specimens, conduct projects, study rock layers and landforms, and investigate fossils, dinosaur bones, and radiometric dating.

✅ Introduction to Biblical Geology — Grades 9–12
Explore the history of modern geological thought, the origin of the earth, the Genesis Flood, the Ice Age, fossils, rocks, and a Biblical framework for interpreting geology. Students receive 36 rock, mineral, and fossil specimens.

✅ Apologetics for High School — Grades 9–12
Help your student think through the questions they'll encounter about Genesis, creation, geology, fossils, and the authority of Scripture. This class is designed to equip students to thoughtfully answer challenges to a Biblical understanding of creation.

👉Classes begin September 15, 2026, and enrollment is limited.

If your student loves asking “Why?”, digging deeper, examining evidence, and discovering how the world around us fits together, don't just give them another textbook.

💛Give your homeschool students geology they can investigate.

What’s one thing you stopped doing in your homeschool that actually improved results?

A lil' behind the scenes action! ☺️

What goes into assembling our kits? 🤔

-Finding rocks
-Washing rocks
-Chipping them to size
-Bagging them
-Labeling them
-He also prays for the people who will be receiving the kits as he’s making them. 🫶

A little known fact: The time it takes to assemble a kit can vary greatly depending on how many samples are in it but probably anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour.

Here, Patrick Nurre is taping paper on the outside of plastic bags for the Rocks and Mingerals, the Stuff of the Earth kit. 🙌

Journal entry for Day 2 of our road trip for our Yellowstone Creation Tour!

We stopped by Sierra Silver Mine for a tour. Fun history fact: the miner leading the tour said there was lots of money in Wallace at one time. A city of around 3600, with five car dealerships! Today it’s about 750 people. Slowly rebuilding.

As a side note: mining is becoming a relevant career option again! Did you know that?!

With that in mind, we have a Minining the Geology of the Old West kit that's perfect for exploring mining history.

The kit focuses on mining in the west, and how it really opened up the settling of the west. It focuses on techniques that were used. Ores that were discovered. And the kit includes several different ore samples to help kids learn about that aspect of mining. And of course, there is the biblical perspective, talking about how ores were likely formed as a result of what happened at the flood. God created the minerals, but the flood seems to have rearranged how they presented in the Earth. See below for where to get this kit. 👇

Headed out earlier today for our road trip to Yellowstone National Park. Such a gorgeous day for traveling and sight seeing!

Stopped along the way to get some crackers. If you saw what Patrick packed in yesterday's reel, you'll undersand why we simply needed crackers as well. 😁

Enjoyed a tour of the Sierra Silver Mine in Wallace, Idaho. The tour that we got of the mine was private. We were the only people on it, although the tours before us were full, so it was kind of neat that it was just us with the old miner taking us through. 🤠

We'd appreciate your prayers for journey mercies, for Patrick as he teaches on the tour, for the tour attendees, and for those who may hear biblical truths in passing. 🫶

Please let us know if you'll partner with us in prayer. 👇
