On Day 2, December 3, we are going to see the Broadway Play: A Christmas Carol, at the beautiful Paramount Theatre in Aurora, IL where we will also spend the night.

And there's more fun waiting on this tour! Yerkes Observatory is Introducing... Frostlights, an indoor light and sound experience where the Great Refractor Dome is completely transformed into a winter solstice voyage through the Milky Way.

More fantastic memories made on our American West Tour. We visited the Range Rider Museum Museum in Miles City, ND paying homage to area pioneers, cowboys, and homesteaders. Newell, a traveler on the bus, has family who owned 11 sections in this area. The museum curators knew the family name and whereabouts their ranch was! It was truly remarkable the preservation that has been a labor of love. Moving on to Medora, ND we enjoyed good groceries with our Pitchfork Fondue Steak dinner and the Medora Musical. Bad weather delayed the start of the outdoor production but it resulted in us all sleeping like logs 😴 last night! The last batch of pictures feature the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library visit. We’re the first Making Memories group to enter since their July opening. And it won’t be our last! It was truly a wonderful experience. -Mandy

Yup, these things happened on our American West tour…buckle up buttercup: our 2 night hotel stay in Helena was street-side on The Last Gulch Historic area-steeped with 200+ years of well recorded history. This area is a walkable only district with THE best taco eatery and other local owned eateries and retail shops, super cute location. We did an obligatory Wal-Mart run, Cathedral of Saint Helena, see the pictures-no wait-sign up for the next tour to Montana! We had an eventful Gates of the Mountains Tour river tour where we encountered a pop up thunderstorm with allegedly (by the time the tale has grown out of proportion to include) 65’ waves along with 100 mph wind gusts and raining 2” hail stones on the Missouri River 😳. There was a pop up storm and it was notable but survivable. We also had a wonderful tour of the Montana State Capitol building and some members spent time in the Montana Historical Society Museum. In Butte, we enjoyed the World Mining Museum town replica and a trolley tour with an incredibly informative stop at a real life copper mining spot. Tonight, we are experiencing much needed rest! American West moves on down the road a piece…we unanimously enjoyed Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center in Great Falls, MT. And then did a BONUS stop at one of the beautiful falls. We rolled into Helena, MT for a trolley tour and learned all about the rich and famous from the early days of Helena’s formation, the large Chinese populations, the brothel district, and the mining influence in this town which prevails today. Looking forward to hanging in Helena for a few days! -Mandy

Today we travelled the much anticipated Going to the Sun road in Glacier National Park. What a treat! As you might guess, pictures just don’t do it justice. We were in the historic 1930s fleet of Red Jammer buses, and they were topless so the experience was surreal! We bundled up for the coooold and then unbundled as the sun came out and warmed us. The storm system yesterday left fresh snow on a few of the mountain tops. Glacier is worth the trip!! Definitely a major part of the American West-and we saw Bison on the way out Blackfeet Tribal area! -Mandy

We’ve had several adventures already proving this group is mah-vah-lous. Only had two gates changes 🙃 but all the right people + baggage made it, that’s not an insignificant blessing. -Mandy
