We’re honored to be featured in the Wall Street Journal! 📰🎉 The article says it beautifully: craft retreats are the new burnout cure. We’ve always believed that travel should leave you nourished, not depleted — and it’s so exciting to see that resonating beyond our little corner of the world.

There is something genuinely transformative about traveling somewhere beautiful, making something with your hands, and being surrounded by a creative community. Solo travelers find their people here — and often tell us it’s the best decision they ever made. We’ve watched guests use craft and travel to reconnect with themselves, find new directions, and build friendships that last long after the trip ends. This is why we do what we do. 💖🙌🏼

So grateful to be featured, and even more grateful for every guest who has trusted us with their time, their creativity, and their sense of adventure. Link in bio to see what’s coming next. 🧵🌍

We’re thrilled to share the first ever retreat with the Designers of Ruby Star Society–Melody Miller, Sarah Watts, Jen Hewett, Rashida Coleman-Hale, and Kim Kight!

We’re going to get into drawing, collage, punch needle and block printing - using each of these as interconnected workshops designed to help you develop and trust your artistic voice.

In addition to the daily, hands-on workshops, we’ll also have Fireside chats with the Designers, where they’ll share their honest, open stories about their journeys, how they work with color and pattern as individuals and a brand and how they sustain their creative practices.

We’ll be together in the gorgeous Alentejo countryside of Portugal. Immersing ourselves in a creative community where we’ll be inspired by both our surroundings and our fellow makers. Expect generous teaching, creative guidance, and the kind of connection and inspiration that reminds you why you fell in love with making.

Full details on the trip in our bio, you won’t want to miss this!

“I think there is so much to get out of a slower way of traveling and spending more time in one area, getting to know one region, rather than trying to see the whole country in a handful of days.”
We wholeheartedly agree 🙌🏼👏🏼
