The Temporary Bridge That's Lasted 40 Years | Woronoco, MA

When the original Bridge Street Bridge closed in 1985, a temporary steel bridge was installed along Valley View Avenue in Woronoco.

Installed in 1986, the narrow, single-lane bridge was supposed to be a temporary solution. Nearly 40 years later, it's still carrying traffic across the Westfield River!

Woronoco's Historic Mill Village | Russell, MA

Just down the road from the former Strathmore Paper Mill, Valley View Avenue was once part of a community built around the paper industry.
