Your Europe travel update 📍 a few cities are changing how they welcome visitors moving into 2027.

Barcelona, Milan, and Amsterdam have all adjusted their nightly tourist tax 💶. Venice introduced a small entry fee for day trippers on peak weekends (it doesn’t apply if you’re staying overnight 🛎️). Mykonos and Santorini added a cruise arrival fee running through September 🚢.

Italy is where I’m watching closest 🇮🇹. The Vatican Museums now sell tickets online only, no walk-up line exists anymore. The Colosseum still sells same-day tickets at the door, but they routinely sell out peak season, so booking ahead is really the only way to guarantee your time slot ⏳. And a fun one to know: the Spanish Steps are look, don’t sit, these days, Rome now fines anyone who parks it on the steps for a photo 🚫📸.

This is the kind of thing I track for a living, so you don’t have to. Things in Europe change so quickly, and I make sure I am in the know and updated daily with my partners on the ground in destination alongside me so your trip is built around these changes ✈️.

💕Couples come to us wanting to get away and experience somewhere new, but they don’t always know how to explain that feeling of what they want into words.

Don’t worry, I get that feeling you are after as a couple: You don’t always need a BIGGER trip. You need a quieter one.🙌

There’s something about a retirement that deserves more than a dinner out.🎉

One of my amazing clients is celebrating her father’s retirement, and they wanted to do it right.

Want to go to a geothermal spa in Iceland? Here’s my honest take, and you may be surprised. 🇮🇸

Everyone asks about the Blue Lagoon. It’s iconic and it can sometimes beautiful in photos . But honestly? It’s crowded and much pricier than it needs to be. Take those photos and add a ton of people, and that will be closer to your experience.

Which one would I recommend? My personal favorite is GeoSea in Húsavík, up in Northern Iceland. It is a Cliffside infinity pool looking out over the ocean, with stunning mountain in the background. You can often catch glimpse of the whale watching boats passing by while you soak, or the whales and dolphins playing out in the distance.

It’s the geothermal experience I’d send my clients to first, over the Blue Lagoon.

Still want to check out the Blue Lagoon for yourself? Totally fair, it’s iconic for a reason.

Here are my tips to make it worth it if it is on your bucket list and still a must-do for you.  🔹 Book the earliest or latest time slot 🔹 Go on a weekday if you can 🔹 Skip the in water bar line, order from your phone instead 🔹 Bring your own towel to save a few dollars
🔹 There is a better area to book within the Blue Lagoon, but you have to know where it is and how to book it (yep, that’s where I come in!)
