This is Little Gracie Watson. She resides in Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, Georgia.
Born in 1883, Gracie was the only child of W.J. and Frances Watson, managers of downtown Savannah's prominent Pulaski House hotel.
A charming and joyful child, she loved singing, playing the piano, and greeting guests in the hotel lobby, making her a local favorite.
Unfortunately, she passed away just two days before Easter, shattering her parents with grief. Her devastated father commissioned John Walz to carve a life-sized likeness using a photograph as a precise reference.
The gravesite has become the most visited and deeply revered location in the historic cemetery.
The monument has also inspired local folklore that says she plays around in the cemetery with folks hearing child laughter late into the night..........

Nevermind that we haven't even had snow yet! It's NOT to early to dream about seeing the wonderful Cherry Blossoms in Washington DC this spring! Chose your week wisely for best results! The nice thing, we go for the Blossoms, but stay for all the Monuments, Museums and Memorials!
