Our affiliate hospital, Union General Hospital, is hosting their first Walk with a Doc event on Saturday, May 17th from 9:45 – 11:00 a.m.

Participants will walk around their beautiful campus and listen to two guest speakers, Cardiologists, Dr. Megan Smith and Dr. Marc Veneziano from the Georgia Heart Institute talk on important health topics.

This walking event is free and they will provide a warm-up, water and snack.

🔔 The countdown is on. We are just 10 days away from the beginning of the First Friday Night Market season!!
Join us in downtown Hiawassee, Georgia on Friday, May 2 for this family-friendly event presented by the Hiawassee Downtown Development Authority! The First Friday Night Market begins at 5:00pm and ends at 9:00pm.

There will be artisan vendors, live music from Scataway String Band, and a wide variety of delicious food trucks! This is a great time to come out and enjoy the evening while supporting local small businesses! Don't forget to tell you friends and invite your neighbors. You're invited to TCPL's library egg hunt TOMORROW at 3:30PM!

Eggs will contain small prizes or cereal, not candy. Babies and toddlers will be able to hunt eggs in the children's room, while older kids can search the rest of the library + garden. Please bring a basket or bag for your eggs!

Heads up, A.T. hikers! 🚨 The Appalachian Trail is temporarily closed at the Georgia/North Carolina border between Blue Ridge Gap (NOBO mile 75) and Deep Gap (NOBO mile 85.2) due to a wildfire. Hikers should avoid this section and plan to shuttle around the closure.
