We came to Ypsilanti, Michigan, for a family adventure. I left with an ELEVEN-second bull-riding career and a whole lot of laughs! 😂🐂

During our Michigan family trip in partnership with Destination Ann Arbor, we spent the day eating, competing, and discovering just how much Ypsilanti has to offer for families!

Here's where we went! 👇

🍳 Bomber Restaurant:
Home of Rosie the Riveter and the making of WWII B-24 Bombers. The restaurant is full of WWII memorabilia, planes hanging from the ceiling, and MASSIVE portions of delicious diner food. Seriously, we ate so much we skipped lunch!

🎳 BIG Best In Games:
Arcade games, bowling, mini golf, Ninja Warrior obstacles, and the mechanical bull that promptly humbled me! Three floors of entertainment, and we barely made it through two!

🌮 MAIZ Mexican Cantina:
We ended our day with tacos, flautas, and baked avocados loaded with cheese, bacon, and pico de gallo. Those avocados alone are worth going back for!

♿ Accessibility:
The Bomber Restaurant has a ramp into the entrance in both front and back entrances as well as accessible seating and restrooms.

BIG Best in Games is Wheel the World accessibility verified, with elevators between floors. It's also a LOT of sensory stimulation, but my Loop earplugs helped me enjoy the fun without getting completely overwhelmed.

Maiz Mexican Cantina has a ramp into the building with accessible seating and restrooms. There is street parking available.

Between the food, friendly competition, and watching everyone find something they loved, Ypsilanti was such a fun family stop!

One llama committed a snack robbery, my teenager turned paintball into a competitive sport, and two of my kids discovered American Ninja Warrior probably isn't in their future. 😂🍎

That's how our family day at Wiard's Orchard and Country Fair and I'd do it ALL again!

🐐 Our youngest couldn't get enough of the animals and playgrounds, while my oldest found her happy place with an apple c***r slush, with my son training to be a sharp shooter with paintball.

🍎 Throw in fresh apple c***r donuts, corn mazes, hayrides, fire truck rides, and a whole lot of laughter, and you've got one heck of a family day!

♿ Accessibility: This is a large outdoor attraction with lots of uneven ground to cover. Plan for breaks and check ride accessibility before visiting.

We visited during our Washtenaw County family getaway in partnership with Destination Ann Arbor, and if we lived nearby, I'd be buying season passes without a second thought!

Who knew one Michigan college town could pack THIS much family fun into a getaway?! 🏈

We spent four days exploring Washtenaw County, Michigan in partnership with Destination Ann Arbor. Between throwing footballs, solving puzzles, nerding out, and eating our way around town, Ann Arbor gave our whole family something to get excited about.

Here's what made our family favorites list! 👇

☕ Hazel Coffee Co: Because every good adventure starts with caffeine. Especially when you're traveling with kids.

🏈 Michigan Stadium (The Big House): We toured the University of Michigan stadium AND got to throw a football on the field. Easily one of the coolest experiences of the entire trip!

🛍️ Downtown Ann Arbor: Rock Paper Scissors had us obsessing over Gilmore Girls and Taylor Swift goodies, while Vault of Midnight satisfied our nerdy hearts.

🔐 Decode Detroit Escape Room in Ann Arbor: Nothing tests family teamwork quite like being locked in a room together and trying to solve puzzles under pressure. 😂

🌭 Biercamp: A delicious lunch stop that absolutely deserves a spot on your itinerary.

🌿 Leslie Science & Nature Center - LSNC: A chance to slow down, explore, and get a little curious about the natural world.

🔬 Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum: The adults had just as much fun as the kids here! We explored, experimented, and got to be kids again. Seriously, this place was a HUGE hit with everyone.

🍽️ Weber's Ann Arbor Restaurant: We wrapped things up with a delicious dinner, because good food is an essential part of any trip in my book.

♿ Accessibility:
When planning a family getaway, remember that accessibility goes beyond whether a place has a ramp.

Think about how much walking is involved, seating availability, sensory stimulation, and how much energy each activity demands.

Different activities can present different challenges, so checking accommodations ahead of time can make a big difference.

Ann Arbor gave us football, friendly family competition, great food, and memories we'll be talking about for a lifetime.

Touring The Big House at the University of Michigan makes you feel like you are a part of the game.

Our family got to experience the tour firsthand on during our family getaway to Ann Arbor, Michigan in partnership with Destination Ann Arbor. Even though half of us know nothing about any kind of sports ball, it was such a cool experience!

We got to check out the:
⭐️ Club Level Suites and see what it is like to see a game from above
💙💛 Official locker room of the Wolverines
🚶‍♀️ Walk through the same tunnel that players come through on game day
🏈 Throw a football and make touchdowns on the field

Our family's favorite part? Field time of course!

And we learned so much about the stadium too!
💙 It is the largest college owned football stadium in the world
💛 It has over 300 accessible seats (including companion seats)
💙 University of Michigan has the most all-time wins in college football history

♿️ Accessibility:
- The tour had mixed accessibility with access from the starting point at the Jack Roth Stadium Club entrance taking the floor to the suite levels. Some seating in the club level is not accessible.
- Next, you took the elevator down to the locker rooms which have wide pathways and are easy to navigate.
- Going into the tunnel has a steep gradient, so be aware if you have mobility access needs or a manual wheelchair.
- Field time has a small 1-3 inch drop before hitting turf.

The Big House Tour with University of Michigan was a hit with every member of our family! It gave us a newfound love for the sport and may even have us coming back to watch a game someday! 🏈
