The purpose of this post is not intended to be a debate about the fees and your individual positions.
This post is merely meant as a public service announcement that there are some proposed fee changes upcoming and this is a public opportunity to comment via their official platform and we encourage everyone to do so so that your voice is heard.
Have your voice heard (whether for/against and which ones and why)!!! Protect your Park and your access.
Even if some of these proposals do not affect you or your household, we appreciate you taking a community sense of responsibility. The burden is on us all to make sure that national treasures like the Virgin Islands National Park have fair access to all! With these challenging economic times wherin people and families are already burdened financially, many believe the Park can do better than to just raise & expand certain fees.
You MUST submit official comments via the link or you voice wonât count. The more who comment the better the chances of our voices being heard and policies/rates in synch with public voice.
The only way they will NOT move forward with any/all proposed changes is with significant official feedback on their âsubmit commentsâ link:
Submit your comments officially here by October 9th:

This doesnât JUST affect businesses operating in or in proximityâthis is an overall increase/expansion.
Yes they need extra funding but letâs use this comment platform to suggest viable solutions that have vast impact so the individual amenities increase might be negligible rather than proposed 100% increases overnight.
Help us pleaseâletâs get creative to help the Park with what they need while being fair to all visitors from all backgrounds.
Keep in mind the following which are indisputable according to Park Code:
1. Itâs a National Park so there canât be any fee discounts for local residentsâall fees are regardless of where the user claims residency
2. The Parks Code at time of inception, states it cannot charge an entry/admission fee so unlike many other National Park sites with entry booths and a set drive in fee this is not possible. So the Parks leadership is trying to be creative with user amenities fees which are allowed. Letâs help the leadership get more creative and offer solutions that are reasonable and fair.
