Small ocean life does some of the biggest work 🌊🌿.

International Seaweed Day is a reminder that healthy coastlines depend on the ecosystems many people barely notice. Seaweed supports marine life, helps protect ocean habitats and forms part of the natural systems that keep coastal environments thriving.

Sustainability starts with paying attention to the places we love: the ocean, mountains, gardens, harbours, beaches, biodiversity and the communities connected to them.

So when you explore the Cape Town Big 6, move through each space with care. Stay on marked paths, respect wildlife, reduce waste, support responsible experiences and leave every place ready for the next person to enjoy.

Cape Town gives us plenty to admire. Let’s help keep it that way 💚

There’s a reason the V&A Waterfront is always an easy yes 🌊.

Stroll around with coffee in hand, browse the Watershed for local design, visit the Two Oceans Aquarium, add a museum stop, do a little shopping, and still have enough reasons to stay for dinner with a harbour view.

It’s one of Cape Town’s easiest day-out plans because everything is right there: food, culture, shopping, family attractions, harbour views and that unmistakable Waterfront energy.

Who’s due for a day at V&A Waterfront?

Some boat trips leave a bigger impact than others 🌊🇿🇦.

Plan a visit to the famous Robben Island Museum for an experience that’s both powerful and unforgettable.

The 30–45 minute ride from the V&A Waterfront offers incredible views of the ocean and Table Mountain, but it’s what waits on the island that really stays with you.

From Nelson Mandela’s prison cell to Robert Sobukwe’s house, the stories shared by former political prisoners make every part of the tour rich in perspective, history, and meaning.

The best place to celebrate International Chardonnay Day is at Groot Constantia, the birthplace of South African wine 🍇🇿🇦.

Their award-winning Chardonnay has received "Best in the World" honours and is cultivated on the south-eastern slopes of Table Mountain, overlooking False Bay, which contributes to the wine's fresh crispness 🍷.

Wine tastings are available daily:
✔️ Bottom Cellar: 09h00 – 17h00 (closing at 18h00)
✔️ Production Cellar: 10h00 – 16h00 (closing at 17h00)
✔️ Top Cellar: 10h00 – 16h00 (closing at 17h00)
