AUGUST ORANGE RIVER WILD RIDE

4 epic adventure days in the Northern Cape / Richtersveld .

With great spring weather and the best riding tracks in SA this was always going to be a ride to remember.

NC500 - SCOTLAND

Not a regular Wildwood tour but a spectacular ride around northern Scotland. The NC500 is a 500 mile circular route from Inverness that follows the rugged Scottish coast with John O'Groats the most northerly point.

My brother Ken's 60th birthday was the perfect excuse to spend some special time together doing an epic ride. Every mile of the route is spectacular with some of the most beautiful wilderness on the planet.

Both the CF Moto MT800 (my ride) and the Africa Twin 1100 DCT were perfect for the tour and ran flawlessly. It was my first ride on one of the new breed of Chinese bikes and can honestly say there was nothing the Euro/ J*p bikes do better.

If you have the opportunity try and ride / drive the NC. (bikes 4 or 5 days or add another day or 2 for campers or cars). Lots of narrow (very) single lane roads but nothing scary. (Brittain's steepest / highest mountain pass Bealach na Ba is very narrow with lots of tight switchbacks and can get hairy in bad weather though )
