✈️ Wanneer jongmense begin droom van vlieg… weet jy die toekoms van lugvaart is in goeie hande.

Dit is vir ons altyd ’n riem onder die hart wanneer jongmense — party so jonk as 17 — begin belangstelling wys in die vliegbedryf en droom daarvan om eendag vlieëniers te word.

Ons het onlangs ’n inleidingsvlug gedoen en dit was wonderlik om die entoesiasme, opgewondenheid en opregte liefde vir lugvaart te sien.

Op die foto is Lumieke Fourie van De Aar, wat saam met haar broer ook die geleentheid gehad het om die lug saam met ons te beleef.

’n Groot dankie aan ons instrukteur Johan de Lange wat altyd bereid is om die ekstra myl te loop om mense met belangstelling die lug in te vat en hulle te wys hoekom hy doen wat hy doen.

Om ’n goeie vlieënier te wees beteken meer as net opstyg en land.
Dit beteken jy verstaan hoe jou vliegtuig werk.
Die Cessna 172 se brandstofstelsel is ontwerp om eenvoudig, betroubaar en veilig te wees:
⛽ Twee vlerktenks –Een Links en een Regs
🔄 Brandstofkraan om tussen die tenks te kies
🔧 Brandstofleidings wat brandstof na die enjin voer

Wanneer ’n vlieënier verstaan waar die brandstof is en hoe dit deur die stelsel vloei, maak dit brandstofbestuur tydens vlug baie makliker — en baie veiliger.

By Springbok Vliegskool leer studente nie net hoe om te vlieg nie, maar ook hoe die vliegtuig werk.

Before the flight, Captain Flippie Vermeulen was already busy with preparations… and yes — you’re seeing correctly — the Beechcraft 18’s engines roared back to life on Valentine’s Day.

What made this flight even more special was that Captain Flippie shared the cockpit with his son, Ben Vermeulen. Watching this father-and-son team in action behind the controls of this beautiful classic aircraft was something truly rare.

And she still flies like a dream.
The take-off was perfect… but the landing? Captain Flippie settled her down so gently you’d swear she was made of porcelain. That’s what makes Springbok Classic Air unique — every aircraft, whether young or vintage, is handled with absolute respect and care.

Thank you, Captain, for an unforgettable flight. I’m sure everyone’s day was made — not only were the ladies spoiled… the men were too!
